I know that PreSonus recommends specific routers (although the article on the site is from 2013).
StudioLive 16 series III mixer. However, in our case there will be ONE person using the wireless to mix. Maybe one other will use a mobile device to occasionally adjust monitor mix. Therefore, I am not concerned about multiple users causing dropouts. Basically, I need an inexpensive solution. I thought I might be able to use my old Linksys router, but I couldn't get it to connect to my mobile devices. Is anyone successfully using a cheap router? Preferably under $50.

What PreSonus gear is this for and how will it be used? Also, what model Linksys didn't work for you?

Sorry for omitting that key detail.
Studiolive 16 series III mixer. The Linksys was an old wrt54g, and I couldn't even get the browser page to open on my laptop for it. The mixer connected immediately through my Nighthawk AC1900 router that I use for my home. We would use it infrequently for small gigs and in a remote rehearsal room. |
Yes. As I said, it is an old router. I think I bought it in 2006. It hasn't been used in over 5 years.
I couldn't even get the router to connect to my laptop. |
I decided to try to reset the Linksys router to factory settings.
It worked! It's not ideal, but it suits our current purposes. Thanks for your help. |
