Sing4LTS wroteI haven't seen any mention of the SLxxAI boards being able to control the RM via Dante. Is that function only available via AVB? If so, are there plans to be able to control the RM via Dante from the SLai in the near future?

The problem with dante is that there is no provision in the protocol to control headamps, phantom power and such.

This is true, but this only prevents mixing manufacturers devices and allowing that control to happen across brands. When you are dealing with only one manufacturer such as in this case, they can still control the pre-amps, etc while using Dante to carry the audio data.

There is no provision in AVB to control headamps, phantom power and such, either.

AVB and Dante transmit audio data only. Control data is sent using normal Ethernet along with the Dante/AVB packets. It's down to Presonus to program the SL and RM to work together so that one can remote control the other. Which they've done for the AVB option cards.
