Would like to use Capture for recording due to the ease of use, however, I also want to record MIDI from my Vdrums for further tweaking. I know this can be done in Studio One, but Capture is SO easy to use that it seems a shame not to use it due to it's lack of MIDI recording. Any alternatives or workaround suggestions would be appreciated.

Capture is made to be a quick tool to capture audio from the StudioLive mixers. None of them record midi. Not saying it would be impossible, just not what it's for.

The MIDI signal is available via USB so I would connect through the computer, not through the mixer. I would just like to record the MIDI data in sync with the audio going into the board (which is essentially an audio interface) in Capture as a MIDI (instrument) track just like I currently do in Studio One.
Setup is: StudioLive 32AI Mac Computer TD-30 VDrums |
I think once you get past capturing the audio inputs on your StudioLive mixer, Capture is not your tool.
