Hi all
Channel names are not showing up here as well. I'm sure I had it bevor, but now it's not working.
Versions:
Capture: 2.1.1 built 31798
Mixer Rm32
UC Surface
Firmware SL 1.0.6439
App-VErsion 1.6.1.33654
I know that the RM is still on the 1.3 Version, but I didn't want to upgrade to 1.4 or 1.4.1 since there were quite a few Problem reports on the Forum.
Any ideas what can be the reason for not syncing channel names.

The link I provided tells you that it is really important (if you want all this to work properly together properly) that any changes you make (as in an update to say your IOS, that you update all associated drivers and software. If you haven't changed anything then do so, make sure you go to your 'My Presonus' account and select your hardware and update all you find there.
Board drivers
capture
UC surface

Please note here that we would request that you do a firmware recovery method, as that wipes any remnants of old programming that could otherwise mess with the new drivers...

If that somehow doesn't get you going you should start a Tech ticket.

Hi Gadget
Followed your instructions and got it running again. Thanks.
But to be honest: it's really frustrating and - in my opinion - a big issue of all presonus software. After uninstalling, you have to dig and dig and dig for remaining parts of the drivers all over the hd until you can be sure to be able to reinstall correctly again.

Hmmm....
Glad to hear you are back up and running, but I think we may be at different feeding troughs...The process I described is pretty much automatic, (other than downloading and unzipping the files to a thumbdrive) and takes only minutes to accomplish...

Not since the ubiquitous Audiobox USB, and it's problematic drivers have we had to go into the root directories to get the remnants of nasty programming...

Perhaps we are talking about something different? The fact that we have to keep up with the latest/greatest ??? software is more a statement of the state of the computer industry, and their proclivity for volume of updates (largely to fix screwups they made in the latest not-so-greatest drops) or quality of updates... Apple is the WORST example of this of late...Steve must be rolling over in his grave...

Not seeing this step taken, so I will ask. There is a sync button at the top of the capture song page. Once that is activated, names and settings become part of the capture file, and open up correctly in S1.

Even that sync button wasn't visible in my case. After the reinstall everything ws o.k. as shown in all the videos.
I had such driver issues before on another PC. But now on the MAC. I have no idea, what went wrong in my case. I'm sure, that I've seen syncing right several times. The only thing what I did was installing 1.3 version of UC surface. But I expect not to be forced to install capture again, after such an update. Anyway now it works - maybe until the next UC Surface installation :D

Seeing the same issue on our system. Capture had sync buttons (computer to board and board to computer) on Thursday, but not on Sunday. No changes to drivers or board or computer updates in the interim.

Just experienced and resolved this issue today by reviewing the Support Note and making sure the wired ethernet connection was active between the RM32AI and our MacMini.. not JUST the firewire connection.
As soon as Capture was started with a network connection to the RM32AI, only then did the Sync Names and Engage Digital Returns buttons display.

I think this is worded poorly.... as it implies that Capture sync will work over Firewire. I am not seeing that it will work that way.

Note: Capture Sync can be established via FireWire (when Universal Control-AI is open and running and the computer is connect to the network) or via a network connection (when the mixer is connected wired or wireless to the same network as the computer running Capture). In either scenario, the computer must be connected to the network. The network Sync option gives better performance than Sync over Firewire, so Capture Sync via the network option is highly recommended.

Yep. That fixed it. After months of starting up on its own with the correct connection all of a sudden it didn't and I didn't think to check this aspect.

Thanks!
