How to add an “ad libitum” measure?

Is it possible to add an adlib measure? If so, how?

You could custom-create a measure of whatever length you needed as a time signature, and then hide the time signature (tap the time signature, tap again, and choose “hide”).

Playback would be an issue on iOS.
