Hi guys
For some reason I can post here but don't have the correct "permissions" to post in the "Notion for iOS Feature Requests" forum....so I'm going to post this request here. Can you please add support for using Notion for iPad as a live chart-reader? i.e. the following would be fantastic:
Portrait/Landscape full-screen viewing (i.e. no toolbars) Sending of MIDI CCs and PCs (to change patches and other parameters on connected MIDI devices At the moment, no other iOS app comes close to Notion in terms of its ability to render MusicXML files (which is arguably the best format for viewing notated scores/charts from desktop notation apps like Finale/Sibelius etc) BUT Notion doesn't really have the functionality to read charts live at a gig....yet it could easily do this with just a few simple additions as suggested above. Anyone else want to use Notion for reading charts on stage? Cheers Gary |
Have you tried exporting PDFs from within Notion and then importing them to ForScore? For round-trips of MusicXML I had to go through Dropbox, so if a direct transfer from Notion to ForScore (or similar program) doesn't work, try exporting to a cloud service (which means you need internet at the gig )

I appreciate the replies but I don't need PDF charts...I already use these with ForScore. I'm looking for an iOS app that can import MusicXML and has decent notation editing features so that can I can transpose notated charts on the fly at gigs, and also do some editing on the fly if necessary. Notion for iPad is a great contender but it currently lacks features that can enable it to be used for live performance (see my OP).
