How can I replace already written notes? I want to change it for example from quarter note into half note.

Welcome to the forum.

Tap on a note to select it. It will turn orange. From the note entry palette, tap the desired duration.

If the measure is already full, this will overload the measure, and you will have to adjust or delete the other notes.

Newbie here

How do I delete a note promptly? I'm on an iPad mini. I can select a whole measure and delete it easily, and I can select a single note and change it, but to delete a note I have to get the purple box and move the corners to select only the note I want to delete. Is there a quicker way?

Touch the single note, it will turn orange. Then hit the eraser button...no more note.

The quickest and most effective way would be to click on
the hand cursor button on the toolbar and selecting the note you want to change,
either in duration or pitch and then either drag it to change pitch up or down, or to change
duration just click on the alternative duration. ; )

There's some good keyboard shortcuts here too.

Select the note, or range of notes, then hit the equals key, followed by the rhythmic duration. So to change a group of notes to eighth notes, hit = E

To change pitch chromatically, use shift up/down

There is a separate menu for sharp and flat notes (and microtones). It is the toolbar that is the fifth from the left. Touch the note, select it, choose sharp or flat.
