Some software incorporates the ability to hear edits against other tracks, busses, groups etc.. "Dimmed" to 50% of their set volume levels. For auditioning edits at a bit of a standout volume level.
Nice addition to the mixer as a button. Or when notes are selected, highlighted etc... an option during auditioned playback.
