Is there any way to tell Notion 6 to play a timpani cut-off stroke? I am using the VSL Special Edition timpani.

Thanks so much,

Unfortunately, there's no technique in Notion for damping a hit on timpani. This has been a feature request for some time, I believe. So that means that there's no technique in the Notion VSL rules either.

I'd suggest making a separate instrument that uses the secco single hit from the patch library in VI (you can use the save option and rename it after modifying it) and switching it using change instrument. An accent or dynamic change could also be added.

This could easily be controlled by a ruleset if you are familiar with them.
