VSL has finally released their initial (not yet complete) downloads for Synchron Strings. They're pretty amazing! I had a chance to play with them in Notion, wrote a simple ruleset, and made this video:
More complex samples to come, but let me know what you think! At less than $500 on sale they're a very good bargain for such a complete and beautiful string library. The Early Bird pricing ends soon! Enjoy! Michael Ruleset attached, if anyone is interested!

Merry Xmas Michael!!
From snowbound Montreal --well not really, let's say just ok for a White Christmas. . . Breaking news: Santa's left 15 minutes ago. I've just unwrapped your gift... and here's my question: Should I be impressed, amazed or plain subdued!? I've just added yet another item to my shopping list. Right now, I'm experimenting with a novel way of composing symphonies. So I'll really need those strings the sooner the better! The new programmable Teddy Bear will have to wait for a while. Later |

Hello,
This looks promising though maybe not easy at first sight (I'm a beginner user of Notion). I'm using the rules for VSL found here: https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/210049003-Using-the-Vienna-Symphonic-Library-with-Notion. They work pretty well, except that the appassionata basses are mismatched with cellos. I opened a ticket for that but I'm not expecting this to be fixed before quite some time... if ever. I just bought the Synchron Strings 1 and would be grateful to find the same kind of rules to easily control Synchron Strings through Notion 6. I tried to download your file but you're obviously a Mac user and I'm using Windows, so I can't use your file. Frustrating Do you know accessible tutorials I could use to try and make my own rules? I must admit I haven't yet read Notion's manual about this... Is it thorough enough to help me in this task or are there any other reliable ressources to achieve this? I guess this topic isn't the ideal place to explain how the rules work and how to create them. Anyway, your work looks very nice. I hope that I'll be able to achieve something like this on my side, or use someone else's kind efforts if I fail... and on Windows! |

It should be OS agnostic, but you might need to change the ".prules" extension to whatever extension rules get in Windows. Can any windows users help out here?
