Hey! A little off topic but I wanted to test this, specially on Macs in which I don't have access.

Paste the following text on any text box using the default NOTION font.

Or try some common fonts:

Palatino Linotype ♩=90 ♪=180 E♭ F♮ B♯

This is how it looks in NOTION 6 running on Mac OS X (El Capitan) . . .

[NOTE: The NOTION 6 default font is Baskerville 8 point, which I did not change. The Mac font is Palatino 8 point, so for the Mac font example I pasted the text you provided but changed the font to Palatino 8 point . . . ]

THOUGHTS

Steve Jobs was fascinated by calligraphy and typography, so the Mac has deep and rich festivals of typefaces and fonts, which maps to over 400 typefaces, and of course you can add more typefaces . . .

[NOTE: For folks who might not know so much about typography, Palatino is a typeface, but Palatino 12 point Italic is a font. The typeface is the "family" and the fonts are the specific people in the family . . . ]

You also can create your own typefaces with a product called "Fontographer" (FonLab), which is available in Mac and Windows versions . . .

Fontographer (FontLab)

Lots of FUN! :)

Great! Thanks for trying!

My purpose was to reveal (to which aren't aware) that most modern fonts contain some special characters that can be inserted in common Notion text elements without the need of a special font.

I'm using one of these glyphs in my title here. Is not the most beautiful 'flat' mark but it's better to 'Bb' in my opinion.

Also, there are usually arrows that can be used to indicate transitions between techniques
In this score, (although I can only post small image here) I'm using a:

'air sound ⎯⎯⎯⎯⟶ normal' indication above the flutes.
It's also common to go from sul tasto ⎯⎯⎯⎯⟶ sul pont.
or telling a french horn to go from o ⎯⎯⎯⎯⟶ + (open to closed bouchée)

Sometimes you need a ┌── bracket ──┐

or a └┄┄┄lower bracket, or dotted┄┄┘

For instance, half bracket is often used in guitar and other instruments for:

rasg.────┐

or for a string like:

❺─────────┘

I use a font manager in windows named 'x-fonter' which is very handy to find out these special characters, but you can copy the text from this thread.

Fun!
