In past versions of Notion, I used to be able to control the velocities of multiple notes by opening the sequencer overlay, selecting the bar(s), and pressing alt + up/down. Now this doesn't seem to be possible? Instead, it changes the size of the selection area.
It is a pain to individually click each note to change the velocities. Is it still possible to somehow select entire bars and change the velocity of every note with one button press? |
I also tried recently to use Shift-arrow to adjust duration per the user guide and that does not seem to work either.

Does PreSonus staff watch this forum?
If yes, I think an "Notion 6 Issue/Bug Report" thread/post is in order and keep all bugs related problems in there. If a user has has problems with Notion and the issue is in that thread, he/she won't need to (re)post. If it's not in the thread, then, he/she can create a post and if the problem can be replicated by other users, then I bug report, can be filed in the "Notion 6 Issue/Bug Report" thread for others to see, but, it needs to be kept "discussion free" or it'll get to crowed with none sense. Bugs only. What say you? |
The Presonus folks do watch this board, quite a bit more closely than one might think, yet they never are obtrusive or overbearing (quite the contrast to a community board of a competitive product which I will not mention!)...

That's great news, Michael! What do you think of my suggestion? Would that help in keeping things more organized and in one place? |
There is such a site for feature requests:
http://answers.presonus.com/questions/notion-feature-requests/notion-feature-requests?sort=votes Bugs should be sent directly to the technical team via a technical support request. They're very helpful and responsive. Couldn't hurt to post them here as well, as some may have experience with the same issue and have found a workaround.

michaelmyers1 wroteThere is such a site for feature requests: What Michael said^^. You can make a tech support request via your my.presonus.com account. We do indeed watch the forums and Notion user groups on Facebook etc and make occasional posts, but otherwise it's a very user-lead community. And if I do miss something, there's a great group of Notion power users here, that will give me a prod and let me know! -Chris PS - Yes, this is broken - it is queued up to be fixed for the next desktop update. BTW, you can now roll back to previous versions - you can see these in your my.presonus.com accounts

Until an update, on Windows a workaround I use to selecting multiple notes and changing their note velocities together as a group,
• Select a Score area of beats, measure(s) or stave(s) , next use the menu item • Edit>Select Special> Select Voice 1-4 • View>Show Sequencer Overlay Tab - to show velocity colors (gray is the default menu item Tools>Clear Velocities,). • Alt + up/down arrows (Win) to change the velocity values by +/- 10 ,Newberry |
Probably is a undocumented feature of the newest navigation methods for Notion.
I see now that pressing the -Enter key- the 1st time selects the object (note, rest etc.) at the current position of the Playback Marker. The 2nd time the -Enter key- is pressed a selection becomes highlighted in the current staff. Then, using the Alt + left, right, up or down arrows increases the area of beats, measures or staves that are highlighted. After an area of the score is highlighted the -Enter key- now functions differently and when pressed selects the notes in the highlighted area and the Alt + arrow up/down keys are used to change note velocities of the selected notes when the Sequencer Overlay view is shown. The menu Edit>Selection method is not needed unless a specific voice number is desired for editing. ,Newberry |
johnnewberry wroteProbably is a undocumented feature of the newest navigation methods for Notion. Hey, thanks for this. It does indeed work, but the problem is that alt+shift+up/down is still broken: velocities can only be changed in increments of 10. This is not accurate enough. |
