Hi!
I try to use VSL Special Edition in Notion 5. Trying to enable the plugin in the VST Manager, the message is shown: "das Plug in konnte nicht geladen werden" "the plug in couldn't be loaded" though it is shown as an available VST plug in in the directory. I'm using Notion 5 64bit with W7 64bit. Anybody an idea? Kind regards Manfred

Hi Martin!
Yes, it's the 64bit Plug In. As you also can see in the attached screenshot, Vienna Instruments is enabled - but I can't load or play any instruments ..... Vienna Ensemble, which is demanded for using the Notion VSL preset cannot be enabled. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19023771/vsl.JPG Kind regards Manfred |
[NOTE: I do everything on the Mac, and I do not have any VSL products, but so what . . . ]
A few things come to mind: (1) If there are both VST2 and VST3 versions of the Vienna Ensemble plug-in, then try enabling the VST2 version, not the VST3 version . . . (2) As an experiment, you might try disabling Vienna Instruments and then enabling Vienna Ensemble. If this gets Vienna Ensemble enabled, then try to enable Vienna Instruments . . . (3) Check the permissions for the Vienna Ensemble plug-in (read, write, account, and so forth) . . . (4) What happens if you try to enable the "TRackS3 Metering" or "T-RackS CS Metering" (better) plug-in? (5) Have you configured Vienna Ensemble for running in standalone mode? (6) Have you tried running Vienna Ensemble in standalone mode before you try to enable it in NOTION 5? THOUGHTS You can download the "Vienna Instruments and Vienna Ensemble User Manual 3.3" from the Vienna Symphonic Library (VSL) website, where it will be in your "MyVSL" area . . . Beginning on Page 67 of the "Vienna Instruments and Vienna Ensemble User Manual 3.3", there is detailed information on configuring Vienna Ensemble to run in standalone mode, and this might be related to the problem . . . Perhaps Vienna Ensemble needs to be running at the time you try to enable it in NOTION 5 . . . This is all that comes to mind at the moment . . . Lots of FUN!

I usually get that message from Notion when VE can't find a license. Can you start either VI or VE outside of Notion as a standalone? Michael

@all: thanks very much for your support!
- I think I will uninstall and then re-install Vienna Ensemble 64bit. - I disabled VI 64x, but I couldn't open VE 64x in Notion's Plug In Manager. - a good idea was to ask for the Standalone Version. Thanks for that, Michael and Surf.Whammy! I found out the 64x Standaloneversion doesn't work, though the 32x Version does. I used Vienna Special Edition only in Cubase Artist 7.5 before, there it works perfectly. I never tried the Standalone Version. - after installing the 32bit - Version of Notion 5, I can enable Vienne Ensemble 32bit as a plug in and can use it. Regarding the 64bit Version, I will try again to install these versions. Thank you all for the support. I will leave a post, when I should have managed to install the 64bit Versions. Kind regards Manfred |
Personally,
after the installation, I throw all 32 bits version. Of course all my software are 64 Bits... So ! I never get any problem |
One maybe silly question.
You do have a 64-bit computer?
