So I have an AudioBox 1818VSL and a DigiMax D8. In the past I have had a "known issue" (Presonus) of random pops and clicks in my recorded audio when the DigiMax D8 was connected. I was told by Presonus that they were aware of this issue and were working on an update to resolve the issue. After a long wait period for the new VSL driver to be released, it finally was, but to my detriment, it will not install on my mac. I have contacted Presonus, opened a ticket (still not resolved), have removed all files for the previous VSL 1.2 on my computer, repaired my disk permissions, and re-set the PRAM, actually I have done all of those things multiple times. After I make sure I have a clean slate to work with I have attempted to install VSL 1.3, numerous times and each time continue to get a screen at the very end of the install, that "the installation failed". Presonus told me I now must reinstall my OS which I did yesterday. After the reinstall of my OS, and removal of any VSL files that were on my computer left from the previous attempt, a repair permissions, and PRAM reset, I AGAIN attempted to install the VSL 1.3. Same issue. I am looking for anyone who may have the same issue or a resolve to this problem. At this point I can't record with my DigiMax D8 because the older versions of the VSL creates pops and clicks in my recording, essentially taking me from 16 tracks to only 8 rendering my D8 completely useless!! Any one know how I can fix this issue? or how to get the VSL 1.3 to install on my computer? My "security and Privacy" on my mac is set to "anywhere" so that can't be the issue either, WiFi is disabled, during the install process....

I have a late 2012 Mac Mini Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F45).

Anyone have a suggestion or possible solution? Please need help!

some guys used another mac (perhaps even a PC) to upgrade to latest driver and then I think it worked for them.

I pity you guys who fall into the trap of tech support asking to reinstall OSX etc.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately I have been following that thread as well, and at first it seemed promising, but as the thread continued, it appears that the new driver for VSL 1.3 didn't fix anything. Plus those guys are on Yosemite, I still refuse to move forward to Yosemite as they aren't having any better luck, and I don't want to mess things up further by introducing another OS upgrade. I AGAIN emailed Presonus through my service ticket and SHOCKER, haven't heard back from them..... I still don't understand how a company with ongoing issues such as this VSL drive BS can spend time releasing a new version of Studio One when there are dedicated users with so many problems!!

HEY PRESONUS, HELP US FIRST, THEN RELEASE YOUR NEW SOFTWARE, IT'S OBVIOUS YOU CARE MORE ABOUT YOUR MONEY THAN HELPING THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY SPEND A LOT ON YOUR EQUIPMENT!!!!! OH AND BTW, I'D LOVE TO RETURN MY PRESONUS EQUIPMENT AND GET SOMETHING ELSE.... Here's what I have purchased thus far.....
Presonus Bluetube (BTW, it no longer works)
Presonus AB1818 works fine right now
Presonus DigiMax D8 I guess it works, but I can't use it because the software is messed up and Presonus won't fix it, or can't fix it.
Presonus FaderPort works but I'm not holding my breath....

Sorry for the rant, but I'm loosing projects because of these DAMN VSL issues that they have known about for years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have an 1818VSL, Digimax D8 and a Mac with Ventura 13.0.1. I cannot get a recording signal on Apple Logic Pro software from the D8. 1818VSL works fine. I recently switched to Mac from a Lenovo i7 Win 10 machine because it would stop recording if all 16 tracks were live.
Having a session in two days, guess I'll just do 8 channels. Can anyone help me? I would love to have my 16 channels.

Query the knowledge base for "VSL". Note that as of OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) VSL is no longer supported.
