Ive been trying to record with a friend who lives far away. He had the newest version of GarageBand so I updated my OS because it wouldn't let me update it.
So I updated it and it ran fine! I could take his piano roll of the drums and put them in Logic Pro X and make a pretty good recording. Until i turned on my VSL1818. It literally shuts down my Mac when I do so. Just curious if i can get it to work at all and if not I'm probably willing to just buy a simple two channel interface if theres one out there compatible. Any help or recommendations on a new compatible interface welcomed! Thanks |
Yes, according to Presonus, your 1818 is compatible with Catalina. BUT you can't just plug it in and expect it to "just work" after a major OS upgrade.....especially on a Mac. First you must do a complete and thorough uninstall of your old drivers. See this page:
https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/210044343-AudioBox-VSL-Series-Completely-remove-VSL-drivers-on-Mac After that you need to down load and install the latest drivers for Catalina. They are here: https://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-1818VSL/downloads Then you should be good to go.
