Sorry
The handbook has temporarily been moved until Presonus can verify something with the 192 interface.

I cant monitor directly, as in zero latency, not post daw. With the current iteration there is no software interface with the audio box, as in no routing controls etc because vsl was dropped. The new universal control has no routing section to deliver the input back to the headphones pre-daw, no direct monitoring. I tried reverting to the last pre-universal control version 1.3, and while the vsl seemed to SHOW the input being routed to the phones via its meters, there was no audio of that input, just the prerecorded daw feed. The input routed to the phone's meter read just as hot as the daw signal but zero in the phones. ?

I have a couple of questions regarding the advisability of de-installing the VSL driver for my AudioBox 1818 and replacing it by installing Presonus' Universal Control 1.8 (or 1.8.1?):

(1) The latency on my current VSL software is negligible...I don't want to trade "up" to something that possibly has GREATER latency. Does Presonus' current Universal Control 1.8 (or 1.8.1) have similar near-zero latency? Does it have other possible disadvantages?

(2) If I find the Universal Control is unsatisfactory, de-install it, and then re-install the AudioBox 1818's VSL that Presonus offers, will it be the SAME as the successful VSL product I started with? Or will Presonus' replacement "legacy" VSL installation be something different?

Thanks, Bob
