Hello,

I have been using the Audiobox 1818 VSL for recording guitars/drums/vocals/etc. for several years now. I recently purchased a Behringer Deepmind12 to use as an external synthesizer/keyboard with my setup.

Unfortunately, I am new to MIDI technology and while I am able to generate note values/velocities within a Studio One song, not sound accompanies the notes. I am sure there is a simple solution to this problem, but I am unable to see it. I know MIDI cables only transmit computer data between hardware, not sounds, so I am wondering what else I need to connect to have a functional MIDI track.

Note that I am able to use the DeepMind 12 as a stereo instrument with 1/4" cables, however that kind of defeats the point of the MIDI connection.

I checked the firmware of both the Audiobox and The Deepmind12 and they are up to date

Gear used:
AudioBox 1818 VSL, version 4.1.2.50657
Behringer Deepmind 12, firmware version 1.1.2
2 MIDI cables (DM12 in > AudioBox out, AudioBox in > DM12 out)

I can provide any additional information as requested.

Kind Regards

There are TONS of videos on You Tube that will show you what you need to do.
There's this thing called Google.....LOL

https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+set+up+a+presonus+1818vsl+with+a+hardware+midi+synth&oq=how+to+set+up+a+presonus+1818vsl+with+a+hardware+midi+synth&aqs=chrome..69i57.29771j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

That being said we can help you better now and in the future with a bit more info......if you will post your system specs in your signature, (see my sig), we will be better able to troubleshoot your problems. Without knowing what type of pc you're running, what OS you're using, what DAW etc....we often can't recommend a "simple fix"

If you have not already done so please READ THE MANUAL!

Thanks for the response, most of the videos on youtube and google explain how to set up a MIDI keyboard....without the synthesizer part of it. Yep, read the manual for both pieces of hardware, I'll figure it out I'm sure.
