Been away for 3 years from recording, came back only to find my 1818VSL monitoring software is no longer supported.
Found out AFTER I installed the Universal Controller which wiped out the VSL Software.

Been looking ALL over for an archive for the VSL control Software. ANY Clues??

Thanks - RJ

It's on the 1818VSL downloads page. You just need to click on:

"Show / Hide all versions of software downloads"

One more thing.....before you attempt to install the legacy drivers make sure you do a COMPLETE and thorough uninstall of the new drivers.

The Presonus website still has the 1.3 and 1.22 VSL drivers in the downloads section of the Audiobox 1818VSL page. I just recently put Mavericks and the 1.22 driver on my old Mac Pro so that I can use the VSL again. Makes recording enjoyable again compared to using cue mix in Studio One in my opinion.

You're correct. Just didn't realize you need to click on:

"Show / Hide all versions of software downloads"

Hoping to avoid posting a new thread... I installed the Universal Remote and now I can't get my phones AND monitors to work at the same time.

So if I'm reading the above right, I need to uninstall the Universal Remote and reinstall the old VSL, correct? Thanks! What a pain!

HI:)

Is this virtual monitor software not available anymore?? I've bought this audiobox, but can't find Virtual StudioLive-Software.

How is this managed in Studio One?

Can I get this Software anywhere?

Thanks,
Heinz.

That is correct. You MUST uninstall the previous drivers as per the procedure outlined in the above link. PITA? Perhaps, but if you want your system to work properly......

That being said we can help you better now and in the future with a bit more info......if you will post your system specs in your signature, (see my sig), we will be better able to troubleshoot your problems. Without knowing what type of pc you're running, what OS you're using, what DAW etc....we often can't recommend a "simple fix"

Did you not read the above posts?? They very clearly state:

The Presonus website still has the 1.3 and 1.22 VSL drivers in the downloads section of the Audiobox 1818VSL page.

And:

It's on the 1818VSL downloads page. You just need to click on:

"Show / Hide all versions of software downloads"

So go to the 1818VSL downloads page:

https://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-1818VSL/downloads

And click on the "Show / Hide all versions of software downloads" link!

If you have not already done so please READ THE MANUAL!

HI:)

@cristofe

I've read the posts before, but I've seen that this driver has only 8 MB, so not recognized that the software is involved with the driver....

So, another problem: (which is none)

Just for testing I installed first the newest 1818VSL driver 2.5.2. With this driver the buffer size goes down to 16, and with Sonar I have fantastic 0.4 ms latency.

In Studio One with this driver I have only ~5 ms and no Blue "Z", a green instead.

Now that I have installed driver 1.3 (64 buffers), in Sonar 1.4 ms latency, which is good enough and I have this fantastic Monitor Software VSL!

In Studio One now with the old driver I got the Blue "Z", so the older driver is better than the new one, possible?

Same Settings in Sonar and Studio One....

Is there any possibility to work with the BuiltIn FatChannel in 1818 and the Effects, but the newest driver 2.5.2 in Studio One for monitoring?
I've seen a video about that, but can't find it anymore....

Forgot: Win 10 64 (newest updates) all work fantastic with the audiobox.

Thanks,
Heinz.

No. One or the other.

The Fat Channel is NOT "built in" to the 1818. It is part of the VSL software and runs on your pc.
If you want to use VSL and Fat Channel you must use the legacy 1.3 drivers. You cannot use 1.3 and 2.5.2 at the same time. You cannot even have both installed.

But I'm quite sure that the Fatchannel and Effect processing is happening "in the box", so for that no CPU is used....

It would be possible to manage this in S1 directly as it does with "Studio 192" (switching Fatchannel processing from Studio 192 to Studio One (Recording/Playback)) for example but it is not implemented for the audiobox?

Thank you for answering:)
Heinz.
