Hi Guys,

I have been reading about the new studio26, and I am wondering what is the difference between the 44VSL and studio26 ?

Which one should be better if I wanna upgrade from a audiobox USB.

Thanks

DAW: Studio one pro 4.
Audio interface: Audient ID22.
Mic preamps: Focusrite clarett octopre.

At this point, mainly the number of inputs. Development of the VSL software has stopped due to changes to certain operating systems. Earlier versions can still operate on certain os versions, but there will be no more development. The device still functions fine as an interface. The VSL software gave you access to Fat Channel effects for tracking purposes.

The Studio 26 is pretty much the same as your audiobox, but with better mic pres. The 44 also has upgraded mic pres, and 4 xlr inputs ( 2 xlr on the 26).

Probably better to ask how you will use it/what needs do you have first.. With the exception for any of the 'I' devices, most of what you would look at will be an improvement.

I am just looking for something better. The audiobox was good untill now because I was learning how to record/mix stuff for a moment. The problem with the audiobox is that I need to use a an attenuator sometimes when singing in a mic cos the signal is super high.
Do you have any advice on a new interface with a budget of 200-500 dollars.

Thanks,
Jean

Without knowing what you need for inputs, I would say maybe look to the studio 192 mobile. There is more expansion options with that to use an adat preamp(S). It is a bit more on the budget, bu8t worth it if you need to expand in the future.

I would need 4 inputs, and also a midi in/out which is not available in the studio 192 mobile if I am right. Is the presonus studio 68 USB any better than the audiobox ?
Is there something is the range of price of the studio 192 that have a midi in/out that you can think of ? even if is not presonus, as long as I can use it with studio one !

Thanks

The studio 68 is an upgrade from the audiobox. It has better mic pres for sure. I am not experienced enough with other manufacturers to be able to recommend something from someone else.
