Presonus AudioBox96 and garageband-- should be simple?

I have just purchased an AudioBox and have it plugged into my computer. I have headphones plugged in, my condenser mic (Equitek E3000) plugged into mic channel 1...I am using a mac el capitan 10.11.16 and have set my system preferences>sound to use audiobox as the input and the output, however in garageband, under Preferences, both input and output are set to "build in" and are greyed out so I can't make a selection. It does say that is detects one midi device. I have installed the One Control driver, and read all the directions, so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong here...
Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated.
