Quick question about levels in windows

So in the Recording devices i see my Audiobox , i checked levels and its at 100% , should i leave it at 100% or should it be lowered ?
The reason i ask is because with a normal gaming headset mic it sounds better at about 50/60%
Can anyone with the same device tell me what they have in there for levels please
