I got my AudioBox from a Guitar Center on Sunday after asking one of the sales reps for equipment that I could use to mic my amplifier and record off that mic. However, after looking through the user manual, it seems like this device is designed primarily for guitars to be plugged in directly and it only mentions vocal mics.

I know that a mic is a mic and it will carry any sound from anything into the AudioBox, so my question is, can the mic jacks on the unit handle the output from an guitar amp without clipping/distorting? Can I get a clean — or even just a reasonably clean (I like noise rock, punk, grunge, and metal, so clean recording doesn't matter too much) — recording through this device using this method?
