I am training an audio editor and I am going to be providing the gear to work with. Which is more supported the iOne or Audiobox? Do they both come with Studio One 3 Artist?

Neither product is "more supported". All current products receive the same level
of support. Especially now that the drivers are universal for all interfaces.
The question you need to ask is what type of work you need to do. The iOne,
as it's name implies, has only one preamp and NO MIDI I/O. The Audiobox
has two preamps and MIDI. The only feature that the iOne has that the Audiobox
does not is the ability to record directly to an iPad.

Interesting.

The only reason I ask about being more supported is because the audiobox hardware is older. In my understanding, it gets harder to support old hardware as time goes on. So has been my experience with other interfaces that have fallen out of support.

While I have you here cristofe. Do you know if the ipad support goes both ways. If I have say a voiceover project that needs to be edited, I can send it to my editor's ipad, they can edit, and send it back to studio one?

For my purposes I only need one preamp, but when it comes to bang for your buck, it seems like the audiobox is a no-brainer, being 10 dollars cheaper, and having midi, and another preamp.

Off hand do you know if the preamp in the iOne is better than in the audiobox? or are they the same preamp?

If an interface has actually been discontinued, then yes. Both of these interfaces are currently being manufactured and sold. So, as I said, neither one of them is crurrently "more" supported.
AFAIK there are no plans to discontinue the Audiobox anytime soon as it is and has been one of Presonus' most popular products.

AFAIK...the answer to that is yes. But...I cannot confirm that personally as I do not use ANY
Apple products. Perhaps one of our Mac guys can chime in and confirm that.

Off hand do you know if the preamp in the iOne is better than in the audiobox? or are they the same preamp?

According to both unit's tech specs, the iOne has a slightly better preamp.....but they're close.
The differences are slight enough that they may not be discernible to most users.

Not at this time. You can only move a song from Capture on the ipad to Studio One, and only to a new song. And I don't think Capture on the ipad has any editing capabilities.

interesting 20db of gain is actually quite a bit when working with stuff like the SM7b (which I wont with a normal preamp anyways), but that's good to know

Thanks I tihnk I might go iOne direction for my editing minion. No problem with the lack of back and forth, not really a big deal.

Thanks again for all the help, folks.
