Hi I have 10.10.2 and Firewood with the FP10 firmware update. I'm getting some hissing or distorted sound during playback after recording and even during recording. This happens in iTunes as well playing back music within iTunes and in Quicktime. I have no idea whats going on!
I have a Mac Pro (early 2009) 4,1 3.32 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Firepod/FP10 |
Have you switched off wi-fi? Have you tried different firewire cables? Firepods are getting a bit long in the tooth...maybe some internal component failing or power supply going bad.

I haven't tried turning wifi off. This never happened with my PowerPC G5. It's like a random distorted hiss not quite popping sound that I get during playback and also during a session on input too. My firewire cables are OK and not longer than 6ft.

Finally I got my Firepod/FP10 to work with my MacPro 2009. It sees it in OX 10.10.2
No more problems. I had made a mistake and had two firewire cables coming from my Firewood/FP10 to the MacPro 2009 and it was causing glitches. So far no problems! |
