Ada8000 Clicks And Pops

I recently got another ada8000 from behringer to give my firestudio 8 more in and out options.
I had a problem with clicks and pops from both adat devices 30 seconds after adding the new ada8000 after checking all devices had the correct clock settings it was still happening.
after a few hours playing with various ideas of what it could be, changing from 44.1KHz to 48KHz has stabilized the system and everything works in sync, i've googled around and found nothing about having to run in 48K if i want to use 2 adat devices, but more weird than that is my firestudio will now pop and crackle even if no adat devices are connected at 44.1K so im stuck with 48K not really a problem but i now have to use a mini jack cable into my monitors to mix old projects that are in 44.1K

Any idea What i have missed or what might have happened?

is my firestudio broken? i can't afford for it to die on me

Thanks

is my firestudio broken?

Probably not. It could be any number of things. Have you optimized your pc for audio production? Have you disabled wi-fi? Are you using an approved firewire chipset?

That being said we cannot help you without a bit more info......if you will post your system specs (see my sig), we will be better able to trouble shoot your problems. Without knowing what type of pc you're running, what DAW etc....we can't recommend a "simple fix"
