Hello from Brazil!
I'm having some problems with my firestudio... I was using it during my band's show... suddenly it could not be detected anymore and the red light was there always.
Several days after, I tried using it home and it worked fine, for some time... and then when I restarted my computer it was not working again. :(

I found some topics and tried the manual uninstall 2 times but it still does not work.

I'm working on a Macbook pro 10.12.6 Sierra... can anyone help me, please?

Hello. What version of Universal Control are you using? Have you tried a different Firewire cable?

I have downloaded the last version.
I really doubt that the cable is the real problem because it worked again after the first crash...
Also, before it crashed the second time, I had some noise and clips problems. Also I could not hear the microphone first when I was recording, but the signal was reaching the mac and recording normally... after that I tried opening Universal Control, and it worked, I could hear my microphone working but Reaper could not read the signal anymore. I tried restarting my computer to solve this problem and then pffffff, not working again... :(

When you say you are using the latest Universal Control I assume the latest for your Firestudio Project which would be here --->https://www.presonus.com/products/FireStudio-Project/downloads

I would open a support ticket with PreSonus to see if they can help you resolve the issue.

Also, as Skip suggested, DO try another firewire cable if you can. Unlike most USB cables, firewire cables are NOT all created equal. I've had many that would not allow my interface to properly connect and solved the problem simply by switching out the cable.
