Hi.

I'm not sure if this worked before... i think so... but can't actually remember.

FSM won't provide 48V if bus powered by Mac Mini 2012 FW800 port or TB to FW800/400 adaptor/s. I won't work with my Macbook Air 2013 with TB to FW800/400 adapter either. Once 48V button is pressed the units just hangs and restarts.

But it works with my Mac Pro 2009.

Can anyone confirm this is normal?

Thanks!!!

I would believe it is because Mac mini can not provide enough power via FW800. My FSM won't work when daisy chained with mac min, however when supported by power adaptor, it woks just fine. Try connect wall adaptor and you will see.

Thanks. You're right. Power Adaptor = Solution for low power FW800 Mac Mini port.
