Greetings,

Sorry for a possible dumb question. I have not used my FS mobile in a year. I recently upgrade my Macbook to El Capitan 10.11 and do not see my FS Mobile listed as an audio device. The FS Mobile light is flckering red/blue so I know it's not communicating. I updated UC to 1.7.3 and no luck still. My only Audio Devices listed are 'built-in mic' and built-in output.'

I also upgraded Studio One 2 Pro to 2.6.5.30360.

I plan to get an upgrade to 3 soon but wanted to get back on the horse first.'

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Sorry for my suggestion in my last message, i missed that you already installed UC 1.7.3.
I had some issues when i installed UC 1,7,3, but after uninstalling UC, restarting the computer and installing UC again it worked OK!

You sure its not the cable? Is there another PC/Mac you can try it on to rule out a hardware problem?

I actually bought another Firewire cable to rule that out and it is still not working. I use 2 apple lightning connectors with Firewire. Firewire from FS Mobile and an external HD. I've swapped the lightning adapter and it does work with the ext HD.

I do not get it. The FS mobile was so simple to get setup. Frustrating.

thanks

Is the cable and adapter labeled as bilingual? It needs to be.

The new cable I ordered appears to be bilingual according to Amazon.

It's on the cheap side - but I was mainly buying for testing.

The adapter is Apple branded and is the the presonus supported model.

I just read reviews on these apple lightning connectors - They seem to have a very bad rep.
I don't know if this could be something, but putting it out there nevertheless

Thanks. Everything was fine until El Capitan upgrade. I did recently connect the FS Mobile to my old Windows machine and it connected (light went solid blue) so at least I know the interface is Ok.

I will try removing the driver for the 3rd time on my Mac.

So I was eager that UC 1.7.4 was out with full support for FS Mobile on OS X El Capitan.

I unistalled 1.7.3, rebooted, installed 1.7.4 and the old flashing blue to red remains. Really frustrating. Worked like a charm prior to OS X upgrade.

Any advice, pleeease!? I'm very close to ditching the FS mobile for a new interface that works.

btw - this interface works fine on WIN 10 box so my interface and cables are good.

thank you

There have been firewire problems with El Cap lately. I suggest opening a support ticket.

El Cap has been Apple's version of Vista.

Nice. Can you share the fix with the group in the event someone else is having the problem?

Yep - I followed this link and steps.

http://support.presonus.com/entries/113168-firestudio-how-do-i-uninstall-reinstall-my-firestudio-drivers-on-a-mac-computer

The ".kext", ".bom" and the ".plist" files need to be removed. The rest may be skipped.

I did not find any ".kext", ".bom" and ".plist" files.

I did the disk permissions repiar and reset PRAM and that did it.

Cheers.
