About 3-4 weeks ago I installed my newly purchased FSM and installed the Universal Control (UC)software and all was working fine until this past Sunday. After returning home from a recording session and plugging everything back in and then turning the computer on the FSM continuously blinks blue and red. When I log into windows 10 and the drivers have loaded I receive the error message: "The software was not installed correctly. Driver Error. Please reboot your computer and/or re-install and try again. Universal Control comes up and is completely non-configurable.

Several reboots and re-installations have been attempted to no avail. The FSM shows in the devmgmt.msc just fine without any internal errors.

I have even attempted to use the beta UC 1.7.4 as of today and still not working correctly.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

This week I performed a complete rebuild of my system from scratch using win10. The first driver installed post system drivers was the Universal Control driver and the same error message continues to display and the light on the FSM continues to blink blue and red. Also the devmgmt.msc continues to show the drivers as being active and normal.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

After several reinstallations and a complete system rebuild I continue to receive the following two messages:

"User settins corrupt. Resetting.
If you see this message again, try to completely reinstall the application."

and

The Universal Control app pops up and indications:

For what its worth and fitting to this thread (I am on Win8.1 though). I upgraded to S1 3.3.0. Decided to downgrade. That was yesterday. Today i noticed that my Firestudio Mobile is now showing up as a Firestudio inside 3.2.3. The picture changed as well. I dont have phones out anymore. I uninstalled, reininstalled, uninstalled rebooted in between many times, deleted from device manager, deleted the universal control directory, reininstalled, get the picture.
In the end i got the flashing red/blue light. Could not resurrect it. Now keep in mind, i have had the FSM since 2010, on my second one. I am familar with these puppies/ Only a couple of times, could i not fix this stupid thing real fast. Kept poking around. Found an .inf file (forgot the name) in the program files/universal control directory. Well, inf files you can right click on and get a choice of installing from the context menu. I right clicked, then clicked install and bada bing, light went immediately blue, no reboot. All is good in FS land.

I came here to post on how to get the proper Firestudio Mobile to show up and not the Firestudio inside S1. Must be a fragment, i didn't back up, when i put 3.3 on the dropped back to 3.2.3. Phone out gone. Get Daw1 - 6 out choices. Under Universal Control and in Dev Manager, i see it as the FS Mobile. Only inside S1 it shows wrong. Its late..........
