I am presently considering buying Artist instead of Pro as I see that my needs can be met by the Artist version.
I noticed, however, that a feature in Pro, not in Artist, is "64-bit floating-point WAV recording and export'". Does the higher precision recording provide me an observable (audible) difference in the final output? I am not a professional musician. I make choral and orchestral pieces as a retirement hobby and, at best, will probably just stream my final products. So my gut is that I do not need 64bit. But, if this feature will make a night-and-day difference in my product, I will find a way to afford Pro. |
Thanks, that’s my gut, too.
The difference is further widened when I found out that version updates also cost a lot more for Pro than Artist. Also did some light Googling on 64 bit WAVs and could not see any advantage on audio quality. |
