I think about to use StudioOne 3 and AudioBox 44VSL on a Windows 10 Tablet for live performance.
This means one Channel for Micro, with some Sound Effects for Vocals, an two Channels for a Playback. In my opinion, this is usually not a big deal for StudioOne. I want to ask for experience for running StudioOne 3 on Windows 10 Tablet. Not on "high End" MS Surface, only middle price machines. kind regards Klaus |
thanks for the fast reaction.
matthewgorman wroteWhat may get in the way is the processor in the tablet. I do know some people have had success with Surface Pro, but they do not use mobile processors. This is the point, that there are actually many different mobile processors on the market, is quite difficult, to compare them. And as I write, the Surface`s are no choice for me. Klaus |
What may work for you is an ipad with camera kit. You would have to look elsewhere for something to run the VST's, as Presonus capture on the ipad does not have VST functionality. Using it on an ipad makes it class compliant, and thus no vsl software for effects either.
Certainly mobile though |
Apple is in general no way for me (not only for religious reasons , I can not do that)
I don't want to miss my StudioOne, and I really do not want afford a second StudioOne Mac Licence to me. The Presonuns VLS debacle on Mac, I would not even mention. I want to use the tablet not only for my music. Therefore I ask for experience on Windows Taplets. |
I have Studio One installed on my Asus Transformer T100 two-in-one and I've used it in tablet mode but haven't found it easy. The T100 is powerful enough to get a few tracks down, enough to take home and build on. But I find I tend to keep the keyboard attached as it's fiddly doing it by touch on a 10-inch screen.
If money's a problem I would suggest getting an older Surface 3. There's a site that really goes into detail in running DAWs on Surface tablets, and they've reviewed Studio One. It's worth anyone's while watching this even if they're not getting a Surface as they go into detail about problems specific to Windows 10.

And do you use it with the original delivered 2 GB Ram, or did you make an upgrade? |
It's the Z3740 and I haven't upgraded the RAM.
