Make sure all these steps are true in order to use the Studio One iPad/Android/Windows Remote App.

You can also look at your Studio One.log file, found via Help menu/setting folder
In there you should see these messages when it all works normal.

Nice one-

Just a point of clarification, what exactly constitutes the 'same Wi-Fi network'

I have a Wi-Fi router that isn't plugged in to any computer (just the pho0ne line) and my DAW just has a Wi-Fi dongle for access to the Internet. My iPad also picked up the Internet from the same router...does that constitute being on the same Wi-Fi network? (If so, I cant get it to work!) or do I need the router plugged in the DAW computer?

Studio: S1, BWS, Live and way too many plugs- i7 Win 10 X64, X32 , Nektar P6, Roland TD27, Elektron OT, A4 and RYTM, P08, DM12, modular stuff, basses, guitars and amps!

For your purposes, both the ipad and the daw need to be connected to the router. wifi connection qualifies.

I've gone through the checklist but still no connection.
2011 Imac, OSX 10.10., iPad Air, IOS 8.4, Airport Extreme router

1. When I plug my iPad into the usb port it syncs. I don't get a trusted device dialog. I assume that's because it is already trusted
2. Ipad and iMac are on the same wireless network. I've tried both 2.4ghz and 5 ghz.
3. I've turned the firewall off in system preferences.
4. Running Studio One 3.01
5. "allow remotes to discover this DAW" is enabled
6. I've been testing with a song open

No DAWs show up where the list should be.

Same here on Windows- must be another step/check missing (or router specific issues- I am on a BT Homehub)
I can even 'Ping' the iPad so I know its connected.

Studio: S1, BWS, Live and way too many plugs- i7 Win 10 X64, X32 , Nektar P6, Roland TD27, Elektron OT, A4 and RYTM, P08, DM12, modular stuff, basses, guitars and amps!

One more place to check, although you would have had to turn this off. In the advanced tab, services, there is a listing for network connections. Make sure that is enabled.

Just a quick thank you to the OP- Opening the port on my BT Homehub cured the problem and it now works great- fantastic free bonus!

It may be worth clarifying in the flowchart that this port is normally blocked by the 'hardware' router rather than the 'software' firewalls on the PC (which can easily be checked by turning the computers firewalls off, this is very different from actually opening a port on a router) - originally I had just turned of my firewalls on the PC and when it didn't work I moved on to the next step.....

If anyone else is having travel, open your router control (normally the IP address of your router) and open the port as directed....its normally turned off by default on BT (UK) hubs...

Studio: S1, BWS, Live and way too many plugs- i7 Win 10 X64, X32 , Nektar P6, Roland TD27, Elektron OT, A4 and RYTM, P08, DM12, modular stuff, basses, guitars and amps!

thanks for the great info! but i'm still not working... i have done all the stuff in the flowchart, plus tried disabling firewall completely, etc etc... i can even see the UDP packets coming in when i run ms message analyser, but nothing ever shows on the ipad list...
all latest/updated versions: win8.1x64, so3.0.1, ios8.4, itunes12.2....
i'll keep an eye on this thread, and i'll post if i ever get it working
cheers

You may have yet a ninth condition that is in the details of one of those other conditions that is stopping the flow not only for you but others that have the issue but are silent.

For this reason it is import to many to get to the next level of detail on each of the conditions.

I recommend you put your specs in your signature then you never have to type then again. See mine for link.

Have you opened a support ticket yet?
A dialogue with another human at each step of the way will detail out more. For example the UDP port is just an initial one that is the used to set up two other ones.

Things support and others on the forum will need to know.
The iPad communicates on WiFi ok with other programs?
What router are you using?
What antivirus are you using?

If you gets ticket and get to the next level then I can make sure you are brought to the attention of the Director of Support at Presonus.

I've set up my laptop as the WIFI network. I've connected my ipad to the laptop WIFI network. I've got Bluetooth paired between the ipad and Laptop. the firewall is turned off. I've opened up Studio One remote. I've pressed scan. it does not see Studio One on the laptop. Studio One Preferences have been set up as discussed above. Do you have any suggestions?

DCHP is needed for this to work. Not sure if an ad hoc bluetooth connection would provide this. Also needed is a WPA or WEP network.

Also, check out the information at the link below. Although written for the AI mixers, both the AI mixer apps and S1 remote both use UCNet to communicate. Anyone that is using an ISP provided router, its recommended that you don't.

Do know why the IP are swapping on you after the connection is made, but this might bring light to why a few are still having connections problems.
I will make sure support sees this.

I have a really weird problem.
I have the latest version of Studio One Pro and it shows up on the list in Remote but Remote in my Ipad says "Connection to the version of Studio One is not supported."

Any ideas what this may be?

Cheers,

Have you successfully completed all the steps in the flow chart?
What are the details of all systems involved?
Computer
OS
IPad
OS
Router
Network names
Etc.
Any other out of the ordinary things you do on the system.

I did get "Connection to the version of Studio One is not supported" message on my mac too, and once I opened System Preferences/Security & Privacy and checked Firewall Options, I realised that Studio One 3 is not listed there. So I added it using plus button and checked Allow Incoming connections and voila it works now.
