Dear All,

The functionality "Range Tool in upper event area" is ver powerful.
With it activated,
a) - You can leftmouse drag over the upper half of an Event, to make a Range.
b) - You can leftmouse click on the upper half of an Event, to set the Cursor.
BUT: this works only if a Track's Height is big enough.
When a Track's height is small (meaning: so small that the horizontal slider for automation isn't visible anymore in the Track Header), then a) and b) don't work anymore.

I find this quite annoying.
However, if you choose the Range Tool as Alternative Tool (activated by holding CTRL key on PC or CMD key on mac), then it doesn't matter how small a Track's Height is ; a) and b) will work with the Range Tool. And, as being the Alternative Tool, you can swap between Arrow Tool and Range Tool
fast, using the modifier key CTRL.

Sidenote: really handy is the fact that with the Range Tool, you can split an Event, just by double leftmouse clicking on an Event, where you want it it to be Split. (No matter the height of the Track on which the Event is on).
This saves time, not having to choose the Split Tool.

Warm Regards.
