Here's a new one I stumbled on today by accident...

1. Open an audio project.
2. Select all of the clips and right click "Copy"
3. Now go paste that into Notepad or similar.

What you'll see is nicely formed XML of all of the audio regions.

Custom Drum Maps

Now that we have the Chorder plugin, you can use it to remap midi notes for drums, to have input of Pitch A output Pitch B. Below C1 (Kick) is actually triggering C#2 (Crash). Create your custom maps configured any way you want and save them as Chorder presets.

You can drag and drop plugins onto Impact's Pads to create an insert for that channel.

Switching between two different sets of plugins.

1.) Pull up the plugins you want to include in your [Shift] + V (toggle optional views) key command. Exclude all other windows like mixer, browser, Track List ex. because these will get included. Once your plugins are up, hit your [Toggle optional view) key command.

2.) Next pull up another set of plugins. These will be under your [V] (Toggle floating windows) key command. Once your plugins are up, hit your key command.

3.) Now you can switch between the two sets of plugins. WARNING** You have to use the same key command to bring up and take away the plugins before switching to the different set. If you bring up your first set of pluigns and try to go directly to your other set of plugins by hitting the other key command, it will override the settings and you will have to set it up again. So you will have to remember what set of plugins belong to what key command.

You can add, combine, and replace instruments directly inside the piano roll.

I use this option for Master FX, or for Analyzer in Master section.

Copy FX Chain

Toggle Between Two Different FX Chains (alternate method)

Setup two FX chains with any plugin that can mute the audio paths (I'm using ReaJS for the mute plugins) . Set the mutes to inverted bypasses on a macro button. Ciick the button or your hardware button or use an automation envelope in arrange to toggle between them.

Each mute plugin (Chain 1 & Chain 2) is just a straight away gain plugin at infinity gain, which stops the audio signal when it's not bypassed. You could use Mixtools for that if it went to infinity, but it doesn't. Use the new gain sliders in the routing screen to balance their apparent levels for A/B.

You can also manually toggle them in arrange once the envelope for that macro button is exposed...

Lawrence wroteSTUDIO ONE - Any verson - Presets in the browser

The browser is an often underutilized resource, using it for things other than loops and plugins and all the more obvious things. It will also allow directly accessing things like drum maps and color presets, without opening any of the dialog windows associated with those things... like the "Options" dialog for changing color sets.

Make browser tabs to all of those things for easy access...

Lawrence (or anyone else),

Does clicking and dragging Color Schemes still work or is there some kind of extra trick required? I've added the UserPresets\Color Schemes folder to the Files section of the S1 Browser, but I get the "No Smoking Circle" whenever I try to drag and drop one from the browser onto the S1 GUI as shown in the gif.

Here's a gif showing what happens on my PC:

Some loops, for example drum loops from looploft.com can be tricky and because of missing tempo information will not follow song tempo. Here is quick and easy fix.

Moog Mother 32 is a great little synth. And it works with Studio One like a charm. See how to set it up here.

Someone posted this in the Feature Request forums (in response to an open request of mine) and I didn't know it existed, so I figured I'd add it here. Thanks to JustinMeyer for the heads up.

Some Browser Shortcuts (browser window needs to be in focus):

Alt+Up Arrow: Closes all open browser folders
Alt+Left Arrow: Closes the current folder

This is very handy after you've found yourself with a ton of open plugin folders and want to get back to some semblence of sanity without a ton of clicking.

You're able to add plugins to your master channel by dragging and dropping plugins over the top of the master volume in the arrangement window. You're also able to double click just above the master volume to bring up the plugins that's on the master channel. You're not able to double click to hide the plugins though.

You can add plugins directly into the Track List.

You can rearrange your tracks and add tracks to folders/buses using both the Track List and the tracks in the arrangement window interchangeably by dragging and dropping.
