Plugins that steal the keyboard focus are abundant. Many DAWS implement special filters that captures a few critical keys strokes, or implement an option to send all/none of the keystrokes. This is a work around between the two competing software for the keyboard focus. Presonus at this time has chosen not to implement a work around. Until such time, there is a fairly easy manual work around to shift the focus back to the host. Just get in the habit of clicking on any gray boarder area that wraps the plugin to give focus back to S1.

Implode To Takes
Like if you are importing stems of tracks with multiple takes. Rather than create empty layers for each track first. Create a new track and run the "Implode" macro to successively bring each track into the new track while deleting the old track. Could maybe use some refining.

ENTERING NOTE VALUES INTO PLUG-INS
In every native S1 plug-in where you can enter frequency values directly, you can enter note values instead. So you can type e.g. 'a4', and this will give you 440 Hz. Sharp notes can be entered too, e.g. 'a#4'. (Entering flat notes doesn't seem to work properly... ab4 does not give you the same result as g#4. [Bug?]) This feature is very useful for the Pro EQ or the Tone Generator, for example. You can also use this function instead of a frequency chart... if you need to know the frequency of a certain note, just open e.g. the Tone Generator, and type in the note value. On a sidenote: you can enter e.g. 2000 Hz as '2k', or 10000 Hz as '10k'. |
DRAG FX TO CREATE TRACKS
You can quickly create a track by dragging an FX. 1. Open the inspector 2. Insert an FX on a track 3. Drag that FX to another to a space under an existing track. 4. This creates a copy of the FX on the new target track while leaving the same FX on the source track as well.
