Ok, basically, simply this.. MY resolution is 1920x1080 (32 inch monitor/tv) so I have to raise the windows DPI to be able to read anything cause the fonts are too small @ Standard DPI... in Studio one (Pro) I load a plugin (Positive grids BIAS) and can't access the bottom settings (Gate, rooms, etc) because they are off screen and Studio one, unlike ever other DAW I have used, offers no scroll bar to compensate. Is there any way to resize the VST wrapper window?
Otherwise S1 is gonna be pretty useless for me since I can't read the fonts at lower DPI (Especially with S1 with it's weird color scheme) |
Not exactly sure what you mean but...
If you want control via the mini editor in the console track try this (pg 131 in manual): "9.1.10.3 The Detached Console The Console can be detached from the main window and placed in an independent window so that it can be located freely onscreen or on a second computer monitor. To Detach the Console, click on the Detach button at the top of the Console navigation column. The Detached Console can be in Small or Large mode, and the window can also be sized and maximized to fit the computer monitor. To reattach the Console to the main interface, click on the Detach button at the top of the Console navigation column." or... Once you insert a plugin, you can double-click on it in the console track and it'll expand, then you can drag it where needed.

no, like say you open up a vst, Kontakt player for example, the window is too big vertically, the bottom is completely cut off even with the window raised as high as possible...thats ok for SOME vst's but for others like BIAS Desktop, you have controls you can't access because the bottom of the window in not accessible.
Most DAW's, when you have a vst window that is fixed size and it is larger than can be shown fully, add a scroll bar (Reaper, MIXcraft, etc...) |
If you press the "Options" icon in Kontakt, and select "Interface" in the popup window, then there is a button to resize the window. This can be used if the window somehow has become too big.
Hope this helps. Beside that, then i agrea it's a problem that Studio Ones VST container/ Window is very big and take a lot of room. This i wish is changed. Often it don't resize to fit so well, or are not working with many plug-ins like Arturias V-collection 5. This is a problem as those plug-ins use the bottom panel. One need to use time resizing or something all the time.

You can't scroll a maximized window but can you scroll a window that is not maximized?

The brainworx plugin shows up huge on the screen, going off the bottom of the screen. There is no way to scroll it. If I drag it to the top, I still can't see the bottom. This has happened with other plugins, but sometimes there's a resize option. Some plugins don't seem to have this, and I can't find anywhere that Studio One 3 allows us to resize plugins. It would be a great feature to have.

Raise the DPI...
There's a setting I use where you can make windows 125% or 150% that I change for some applications. Is that the same thing?

It does not sound like a S1 issue and as already mentioned, changing your DPI settings should have helped. Perhaps the plug is remembering its size each time you open it. Can you reinstall it and see if that helps? |
I FOUND A SOLUTION!!
It's weird but I have a laptop and a SEPERATE monitor. In display settings on laptop type in EXTEND. I extended NOT DUPLICATED the screen on my laptop. Studio one ..faders..etc are on my laptop. I call up my plug in that the bottom is cut off of. Drag it over to my extended screen on my SEPERATE monitor and bingo!!! By the way I bought the SEPERATE monitor at Goodwill for 12 bucks and I'm running HDMI out!! Thanks for listening!!! |
