What are some good midi pad controllers to use with Studio One and EZdrummer 3. I'm looking for something more than just using my Yamaha MOXF8 for creating drum tracks. So far, the leader for me is the Akai Professional MPD218 16-Pad MIDI Pad Controller. Thanks.

The ATOM is the logical choice here - not just for EZD3 but for driving/controlling Studio One itself.

Works perfectly here.

I’m looking at the ATOM USB 16-Pad and ATOM SQ.

If you feel you need to see the 16 pad matrix as 4 rows, and 4 columns, the Atom will be right up your alley. If you want a lot of added features, encoder banks, a keyboard type keybed, with even scaling assistance, and staggered TR style layout, also for strep sequencing, you'll like the Atom SQ. Take your time, there's no downside to either. Pick once and pick right.

Both of these pads excel for the most part over other pads when used with Studio One. That was the intention. That and affortldability. I also like the pad feel over the Akai. They seem to be more velocity and pressure dynamic.

Oh yeah, the Atom SQ has polyphonic pressure/aftertouch!
Knock, knock, knock...... let that roll around the tongue a bit.

I decided to continue using my keyboard as a midi input device, but will keep an eye out on deals. I decided it's more of a "want" and not a "need". I'll probably put the money into plugins.

Smart. When in doubt, punt. Most MIDI input is going to come off of what you really are already comfortable using. I use the keybed probably the most also. For percussion, I'll go right to my Roland Octapad because for what seems like forever, it's awesome to track with and still use drum sticks.
Enjoy, and take your time. You might come across a great deal as well.
