I just wanted to say, since I finally upgraded to S1 v6.6 (from v6.2.1), I like some of the added touches, even for users remaining in stereo (where I will stay). Such as with Open Air having the easier and more visible EQ curves for shaping through effect equalization. I really like Open Air and use other IR's from Bricasti, and Lexicon as well.
So "thank you" Presonus for continuing to make a better product for all of us.

gagsmedia wroteI have console shaper Mix Fx and want Alpine and Brit Console…. That's a legitimate gripe. I do think (and it's been stated) that there is a transition for something to occur with their online store. Why such a needed change is occurring, I could guess, but since I don't know, why bother guessing. What will likely happen at some point is those console shapers you're looking for such as Alpine and Brit Console will be again available again for perpetual users to buy. Still, you and others could use or need it now. I get that. Frustrating. My suggestion is if you're in a pinch and at the final mix/master stages of some project(s), then go the monthly plus route paying the Plus fee, for let's hope is only a few months. That's not the best solution, though it is an option. The other (and I believe better) option is, there are some third party console shapers that are really quite good. Add to that, some seriously good third party channel strips that incorporate channel circuit tolerances. Finally, there is always the ability to create channel leakage (which claims are seriously over-blown, if we're being honest) by way of both busses, and send to bus routing, then parallel the very small amount of "stuff" back into your master bus, headphone bus, etc. Consoles of yesteryear typically produced some 0.0001 to 0.005 THD per channel back then. If they channel leaked any more, People wouldn't have paid upwards of $200,000 for them. Don't believe all the hype. Particularly when it comes to hoo-doo (unavailable) specifications. Tape track leakage is another story. Leakage could be bad, depending on tape width, track width, azimuth alignment, lack of degaussing the tape path, cleaning, etc., etc. if you need any selections, message me. For the price of even $60 - $80 USD, you could own something that you'd have paid 3 to 4 months using S1 plus, only to not even own it. For some, the combined usage or Plus option is worth it for their needs. So, I hope that helps soften the blow. You're ultimately still in a good place. I do think you're correct in a little bit of Presonus marketing, trying to steer users to subscribe to a degree. Presonus could easily provide their perp base the same previous options as they use to. To which, I don't know those details. I know some of those items such as the console shapers you mention are not available elsewhere. at least in my brief search for them. In the mean time, enjoy the freedom! JCT >>>>>>> I see it's only available through Studio One Plus at $29.95 Alpine Desk as an example' Misleading, since the subscription fee is $19.99/Mo. https://shop.presonus.com/Alpine-DeskX

The "Fat Channel Collection" of equalizers and compressors was not made for Studio One, originally. The plug-ins were designed for the StudioLive Series III mixers as 'addition' to the two modeled equalizers and compressors which were and still are part of the mixers firmware (TubeCOMP, FETCOMP, PassiveEQ, VintageEQ). Added were also two 'free' equalizers and compressors (RC 500, RC 500 EQ, VT-1, VT-1 EQ).
It's not possible to buy the plug-ins for the mixers anymore, except when you're living in the US. The "Fat Channel Collection" is still bundled with the purchase of a new mixer, but what people do who buy a second hand mixer and would like to add the plug-ins? |

@ wahlerstudios,
Oh, I know own all about Fat channel available first, and those available plugins. I think the lines are probably blurring here. I was merely speaking on gagsmedia's point about availability towards the Alpine and Brit desks. You may be also stating how this applies in regard to StudioLive Series III mixers. I'm admittedly confused. Also perhaps late towards other points made on this topic. Anyway, it's best to use one's own assets, and commit to completing projects then banging on the availability door, and asking Wilma to let me back in. Good speaking on ya.

wahlerstudios wroteAh, I see. Seems I misunderstood the terms"Alpine" and "Brit"... Sorry to disturb. I have mentioned the problem with the plug-ins for the Studio Live mixers here already. It can easily happen. I see there are also Alpine EQ's for fat channel when I went to the store, if we should call it that. I don't really know all of the available plugins from Presonus. But sharing info is a good thing. Which reminds me. Neuro DSP has a last 3 or 4 days on their amp sim plugins (birthday sale, 50% off). Share, share, that's fair!

I remember a decade ago when the owner and top brass used to participate in the forum; in fact, that's one of the biggest reasons I jumped on the bandwagon. That's a bygone era now. I still think the software, while not perfect, offers plenty to help anyone record their dreams, so the corporate turn, while not thrilling, isn't going to run me off, especially since the program is now MIDI friendly.
FWIW, the best recording stretch I ever had was when I stayed on 2.6 for five years, so I for one care less about latest/greatest than most people. I'm looking for my next great recording, not the next Presonus update no matter how they charge for it. I understand I'm in the minority on this. Such is life. I just don't believe there's a single thing coming down the pike in the next few years that could make my next song any better. That's up to me as the writer, arranger, and producer. Yeah, there's a lot of cool stuff in S1 that didn't used to be there, and ways to make getting around easier, but I greatly doubt anyone's produced songs are any better in 2024 than in any other year you could name. Anyhow, I can see why someone could think Presonus is getting more like Avid ... only thing is, someone can make equally great songs on S1 than they can on Avid for a whole lot less money, with less temptation to invest in pricey AVid-branded hardware, so in that they remain dissimilar. |
AAV wroteRight on. Nice to have options. We're such an impatient lot! Lol Or perhaps a response to the complaints in this thread (and elsewhere). We’ll never know 🤷🏼♂️. |
shanabit wrotePresonus is now Avid. It was nice whilst it lasted. Link? Point? Jose7822 wroteAAV wroteRight on. Nice to have options. We're such an impatient lot! Lol That would be a babysitting job. The purchase options are outlined. You can also search the forum. Nine times out of ten, the complaints issued by users actually have little to do with anything other than a general issue they have, or a global issue they're more consumed with Studio One not having then what they'll actually use. There are both users, moderators, and a few Presonus representatives in this forum alone, that repeatadly can answer the bulk of Studio One or equipment relevant questions. What was your specific question?

The other Plugins are all OK...
I have the same issue as you after updating Studio One version 6.6. I have uninstalled and reinstalled The God Particle plugin, which did not resolve the issue. The plugin has a black screen with no options to do anything 😕. I'm on Windows 10 with 16 GB of RAM. The God Particle worked fine before updating to Studio One Ver 6.6. I hope this gets addressed as soon as possible.
Please update to the latest version of the plugin. If this does not work please create a ticket with Cradle, the fault is almost certainly with the plugin I'm afraid. The fact that it worked until you upgraded studio one is irrelevant, please read through the entire thread for background on how other plugins are being fixed and for the likely reasons why these plugin broke, it has been discussed several times here. Thx.
The problem is certainly with the plugin. I installed Studio One V6.0 in a new folder...and ran that version. The God Particle loaded just fine....but the GUI will not load in V6.6 (the plugin actually works, you can hear it, you just can't do anything with it because you don't see the GUI). I opened a ticket with Cradle Support. You should do the same. It's a wonderful plugin, but you probably don't want to have to run the old version of Studio One just to use it. Best of luck. |

If you see this in the PreSonus Shop, it's correct because these add-ons are no longer available in the PreSonus Shop. You may be able to purchase them from other resellers.
