Opened Studio One 6 today, and my 1824C is not in the list of audio devices. It always was before. Then I updated Studio One to 6.1.1 and Universal Control to latest versions, restarted, still no 1824C. Running Windows 11. Help!

First thing to check is whether device is plugged into a known good USB port and is powered on. Next - check and see if Windows actually sees this device (without issues). Open Device Manager by right clicking on the My PC or This PC icon on the desktop and choose Manage. Examine the Device Manager tree and look for anything with a yellow exclamation mark under Sound, Video and Game Controllers. If the 1824C is there but has any exclamation marks - your driver is suspect. If the 1824C is not there at all - you have much bigger driver issues. Let us know how it goes. Cheers VP

Vocalpoint, thanks for the reply. I tried everything you suggested, and so far no resolution to the problem.

Greg Call me crazy - but I do see several "outs" pairs listed there for the 1824c. Then again this is also not the Device Manager I was referencing - your cap looks like the "new" Windows Settings->Sound area in Win 11 instead of good ole fashioned Device Man like this: Right click the Win 11 Start menu (the Windows Flag) and choose Device Manager: Post up a screencap of the old school Device Manager tree and show me what you see there. Cheers VP

You tried deleting your old device? Either in Windows Devices (win-x) or Using "Device Cleanup" by Uwe Seiber (admin). You can uninstall or delete any old instances of your interface and then plug it in again.
I have 2 of these interfaces and though it is not explicitly stated how to get the desired 1810 in S1 when the 1824 occasionally gets selected after a crash or something, if I click device control panel (audio devce > control panel) which brings up UC, then if I switch over to the other interface (basically by clicking the setting gear on top, and selecting the other interface) there in the settings in UC, when I come back to S1 it corrects to show the 1810 which can receive the 1824's ADAT out but has no ADAT out of its own so is always the interface desired as the engine in S1. when you uninstall a device or delete it in DC by Uwe Seiber, it may change your audio settings in windows sound settings. You may also have to redo your settings for the interface in other programs like OBS. Or not. Things are changing all the time with Windows and OBS sometimes it just finds the right path now.

I am having a similar issue in Win11 with my 1824c. The Universal Control does not see any Presonus adapter on my Win11 machine, though I can see that it is connected via the USB manager and shows up in the audio devices list (control panel). Without Universal Control, I can't disable the mixer app, which is needed for my setup that uses most of the I/O has hardware-plugin send/returns - without that, I only get massive feedback as the device defaults to connecting all ins to all outs on startup.
At this point I am dead in the water. Universal Control only says "No Devices Available" - any ideas? WP |
I would uninstall universal control and uninstall the device in device manager, then reboot/reinstall with the latest universal control, make sure you select the correct driver and perhaps reboot for good measure.
If you are running anything like ASIO4ALL make sure you.fully uninstall that. Also try other USB ports and cables (unlikely that though).
