The new update for this app seems to work only with Studio One 6. Trying to connect with a previous version of Studio One (in my case 5.5.2 Professional) ends up with a “connection with this version of Studio One is not supported”.
But the AppStore description still lists “Studio One 3 Professional or above” and they don’t state anywhere not to update if you don’t have v6…
Bad move by Presonus side…they were one of the few companies that were not doing things like this to force you to update… but it seems something changed (I hope not, honest companies are really rare these days and losing one would make me sad).

I hope someone from Presonus can chime in and tell me this is just a mistake…or at least correct the AppStore description saying that if you update you’ll lose the ability to use the Remote app with previous versions.
I think if you make a move like this one, it would be a correct behavior to give ALL information to users…
If it was me doing this, I would put as first sentence in the description, all in CAPITAL LETTERS, “DON’T UPDATE IF YOU DON’T HAVE STUDIO ONE 6, OR YOU’LL LOSE THE ABILITY TO USE THIS APP”

It is verified with v3 and above.
The message may appear if:
* you use Prime
* you have a firewall or Antivirus application interfering with access to S1

In your case, the latter seems the issue.

Temporarily disable your firewall and try again. If it works then you must enable the firewall again and put in the appropriate port bypass rules (DO NOT permanently disable the firewall).

Please let us know how this goes.

Intel i9 9900K (Gigabyte Z390 DESIGNARE motherboard), 32GB RAM, EVGA Geforce 1070 (Nvidia drivers).
Dell Inspiron 7591 (2 in 1) 16Gb.
Studio One Pro 6.x, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit, also running it on Mac OS Catalina via dual boot (experimental).
Presonus Quantum 2626, Presonus Studio 26c, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport Classic (1.45), Atom SQ, Atom Pad, Maschine Studio, Octapad SPD-30, Roland A300, a number of hardware synths.

Thanks. I’ll try that, but I have no firewall nor anything else active.
I tested the app 1 min before updating it and it was working with the previous version and I didn’t change anything.
But in any case I’ll try to turn firewall on and back off again, just to be sure. Maybe installing the new update changed something automatically without asking me anything

If you are connected to the internet it is a really bad idea to have your windows firewall off. By default it is on. Also note your antivirus may supply its own firewall which may replace the windows firewall.

Confirmed: disabling Windows Firewall and re enabling it (without changing anything) solved the situation.
How do I edit my post title to show that the problem is solved?

(Btw: it is not in any case normal that updating an app do changes in my firewall without asking for any permissions)

Any notification for changes of your firewall rules comes from Windows and not studio one..Either the firewall was disabled, or you have some user accounts issue where you are running everything as admin, maybe you are running studio one as admin (not recommended), or maybe you've disabled UAC (not a good idea if so).
