Is there a way to populate the trim knob on the inspector panel so I don't have to flip back and forth to the mix window?

Which 'trim knob' do you mean? If it's the Input Gain knob and the Polarity button(s) you see above the fader in the Inspector panel then yes. Click on the wrench top left in the Console (Mix) window and select 'Input controls'. You may have to increase the height of the console window a little to see them.

On the inspector panel, on the lower right of the slider is a channel editor, quick click and the trim knob is in there.

Oh wow, thanks for directing me to that. I'm not familiar with the channel editor. Is there a way to create a default channel template that would populate the Input Gain onto the Inspector panel without clicking into the channel editor each time?
