I just found Studio One 6 provides less bundle software. As you can see the screenshots below, Studio One 6 provides 25 bundles while 5 provides 31.

Why is that? Am I missing something?
Why Presonus provides fewer bundles for the newer version?

They may have moved those to Legacy and Compatibility in Studio One itself (Installation>Packages>Legacy and Compatibility).

You are right. I found them from the installation on Studio One. I don't understand why they changed it like this. Downloading from the website is convenient though.

Maybe they did it this way to indicate that these bundles haven't changed since the previous version(s) of S1. So instead of downloading them again you can simply add the S1v5(/v4/v3...) path to S1v6, assuming you've kept one or two older versions of S1 on your computer too. Quicker, and doesn't take extra space on your drives ;)

That doesn't make any sense to me.

Intel i9 9900K (Gigabyte Z390 DESIGNARE motherboard), 32GB RAM, EVGA Geforce 1070 (Nvidia drivers).
Dell Inspiron 7591 (2 in 1) 16Gb.
Studio One Pro 6.x, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit, also running it on Mac OS Catalina via dual boot (experimental).
Presonus Quantum 2626, Presonus Studio 26c, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport Classic (1.45), Atom SQ, Atom Pad, Maschine Studio, Octapad SPD-30, Roland A300, a number of hardware synths.

Those 'legacy' soundsets represent over 7GB of data. When you're upgrading from say v5 to v6 you have these sound sets on your computer already. So instead of routinely downloading them again for a second copy on your drives you can simply point v6 to the v5 Sound Sets directory too. Or you can drag the files from the v5 Sound Sets directory to the v6 Sound Sets directory. Way faster than downloading and it saves 7GB drive space should you keep v5 on your computer too.

Right but there are better ways of doing this rather than marking them as "legacy". Not saying you are wrong but it's hardly the best way of doing that. Studio One really needs to be aware of what is and isn't installed.

I used the sound sets in the beginning but once you buy a bunch of other stuff you don't really make it back to the included content. I never downloaded them a second time. I checked them back then and they didn't change.

This is what my directory looks like, you can fill it up if you belong to Sphere. 93 available.
Soundset is just a container, so they can put loops in it etc.

Look at the dates on the sound sets:

Version 2 only had 17 bundled downloads. Version 3 had 30. V3 is when a bunch of instruments came in.

I think they change as the times change, they threw out all the disco in the interest of public safety.
