I have an issue in Studio One 6. Every time I leave a song and then return, all of my instruments tracks are set as muted. (All of my audio tracks are however I left them.) This is happening not only when I save/close the song file, and then open it again; but also if I use View>Songs to navigate to another open song, and then use View>Songs to return.

This never used to happen, even when I first upgraded to v6 (at least I don't recall it happening). I feel like it just started doing this a week or two ago.

Any ideas what's causing this? Thanks.

Thanks, Trucky. The steps to reproduce are basically what I said in the OP:
1. I'm working in a song, and I have all of my instrument tracks (and channels) set to "Solo" (i.e., the yellow "S" box is selected).
2. I leave the song (by either closing the song, or viewing a project or another song).
3. I return to my song, and all of the instrument tracks (and channels) are now set to "Mute (i.e., the red "M" box is selected).

This only happens with instrument tracks/channels. My audio tracks always stay however I left them.

Not sure why you would save a song with everything soloed. Try the more normal thing of saving the song so it plays normally. eg all tracks not soloed or muted. Then try reopening the song. I bet in this case it will open up exactly as you have saved it.

Thanks, Jemusic.

You know, I've owned every version of Studio One since v3 and I've worked on hundreds of songs, and I did not realize until just now that a track or channel would output anything unless the yellow solo S was selected!

It always struck me as odd that the button for "on" or "play" was called "Solo"! It also frustrated me that in order to actually solo a track, I had to manually set all of the other tracks to Mute. Or so I believed. (I only had to do that because all of the other tracks were also set to Solo.)

This doesn't really explain the original issue I was asking about (i.e., instrument tracks/channels automatically switching from Solo to Mute whenever I would leave and then return to a song). But it will allow me to avoid having to deal with that issue. (And I suspect it will help me deal with a number of other issues I've had to wrestle with!)

Thanks again.
