Excellent!
However - I just downloaded this from MyPresonus - and even tho it looks like 6.01 - the installer is still the original Sept 29 installer: This should read 6.0.1.90430 Unless the version number has not changed OR the file has not yet been changed out on My Presonus? Even the Release Notes button gives me the 6.0.0 initial release notes. Musta jumped in here too soon. Will wait for new files to be posted. VP

reggie1979beatz wroteIt says 6.01 here, DL'ed from inside Studio One. Gotcha - looks like if you already have 6 installed - the update flows down to you via the internal pipeline. For me - who has not yet installed v6 - I am looking for the actual installer. And inside of v5.5.2 - if I hit Check For Updates - of course I get nothing back. Will wait it out. Cheers VP

On a side note (while I am anxiously waiting for the 6.01 installer) - just a nod to the developers for delivering such a huge fix list.
I was getting lulled into a bit of a false sense of security following the initial release of 6 - as there seemed to be an odd calm out there with no one really talking up any showstoppers or odd ball encounters in the first few weeks. But it looks like there was actually a pile of things that needed some polish and it's nice to see this very long list of things addressed. And they actually fixed one of the issues I reported with the Batch Convertor from about 8 months back Well done! VP

Finally snagged the 6.01 installer and now made the move to v6.
Must say - Presonus might be the very best at "upgrading" an app as complex as S1 that I am aware of. I literally ran the installer, let it do it's thing for about 5-7 minutes and I soon was staring at my current projects in the Start Page as if nothing had happened. Fired up my usual VO template and did my first session in v6 right then and there. Session complete and files delivered in 10 minutes. All my v5 settings, macros, soundsets - everything made the trip without issue. Very happy to be using the new version of S1. Cheers VP

I wonder how many of these fixes should have happened in V5?
Regardless a couple more patches like this one will probably tempt me to upgrade, keep it up.

PreAl wroteI wonder how many of these fixes should have happened in V5? Probably most of them. Still, not upgrading anytime soon, maybe around v6.2. Hopefully they'll fix the automation rendering bug in v6 cycle.

I find the amount of major bugs that needed fixing worrying...(while I'm disregarding the old ones)

Does this work?

Edge is actually pretty decent after you figure out how to premanently defeat Bing search and other "Microsoft recommended settings." You can get rid of most if not all annoyances thanks to helpful youtubers providing the procedures (which are anything but obvious).
As for 6.1, as someone who added my voice to the chorus of concerned "users" regarding the Fender takeover, I'm impressed that the developers found and addressed so many concerns even though by and large people weren't screaming bloody murder over the deficiencies present in 6.0 on this forum. Presonus has earned my money with the subtle yet useful improvements and facelift, so I'll fork some of it over to them as early as Black Friday if the price is right (at least 33%) off, then further incentives thanks to the strong dollar). |
PDC bug for MIDI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKj5X6g_X5A still not fixed. Wonder if this will ever happen. Can't get it. Such a fundamental thing and Presonus doesnt seem to care. Instead introducing "important" things like track icons. Works flawlessly in 3 other DAWs I checked (Cubase, Reaper, Bitwig). Oh my. |
I'm enjoying Studio One 6 in between my day job and as a hobbyist
Great to see that a maintenance update already released in a short space of time Well done team Presonus for the hard work

reggie1979beatz wrotewdkbeats wrotePreAl wroteI wonder how many of these fixes should have happened in V5? It's sporadic and the mechanism that triggers it is not fully understood (even by PreSonus), but "shaking the box" (moving the progress window around) seems to reduce the chance of it happening, but can introduce audio glitches instead. The bug has been around since at least v3.5 so I wouldn't bet anything on it getting fixed in v6. |
