New DAW musician here (almost a year now), started learning on MPC Beats and AL Lite then bought AL Intro 10, spent a long time with the learning curve and completed some beats on it.
Was completely seduced by S1, joined Sphere last Thanksgiving ($114 Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale!) and now it's my main DAW. But I still really like Ableton and continue to keep up with it, if only to sketch things out and hear the way cool sounds before I plan to move everything over to Studio One. I have been unable to find an answer to this though, can I install AL's stock VSTs into my S1's sound library? |
I was never able to use plugins that came with a DAW in another DAW.
It's different if you buy them, then they can be used anywhere, but the ones that come free with a DAW usually will not work. Add the path to where the plugins are to VST locations in Options if you want to try it. Look for it first in plugin information on the view menu to see if the system is already aware of them.

Really? My cubase plugins never worked, but it's been a long time since I tried it.
Sorry, just reread your message, thought you said cubase but it was cakewalk. Is there a running version of cakewalk? Haven't used that since sonar 2 I believe it was.

I also use Ableton Live 11. The instruments included with Live are not VST plugins, so you will not be able to use them in another DAW. They are integrated with the DAW. Similar to the built-in instruments of Studio One in that regard. |
