reggie1979beatz wroteEasy install, but they didn't fix the Arturia "Analog Lab" bug This has been fixed in V6. I have tested this and got it to work every time. It's a little different now the way it works in Analog lab. Also a certain window has to be open for this to work in real time as well. I will re test and get back with the steps on how to do it. I also think maybe the MTC lock bug has been fixed as well. I will check that later with Studio One as the slave. There are some powerful new features in V6 overall.

gregghart wroteAll you guys that say it brings nothing....REALLY? Have you actually LOOKED at what all new features it has? Something like 40 of them. New EQ (which is phenomenal by the way), Better Sidechain abilities, Track Templates that actually make sense, better customization, video tracks (which have been on the "want" list for at least 5 years), a Vocoder, an Autofilter (great for electronic musicians like myself), MPE support which has also been something people have been wanting, Some great new Mixer features like Flip Faders, better plug in control, etc.... Gregg Usually, I am totally ecstatic when a "major" S1 version release hits the street but as others have mentioned - this one does feel kinda "thin". Granted - the team has done an excellent job (as always) in assisting workflow and templates are a step in the right direction but even you must admit - on the surface - none of the new features are gamechangers or really better than 5. Even the new EQ means little to me if I already use something like FabFilter Q3 for everything (I do know some folks that are very happy with the video track). Have also been told by at least one beta tester that this v6 release should be considered "foundational" in nature and sets the stage for bigger things to come in future point releases but I think many of us continue to be caught up in our usual "conditioning" where we all expect some "whiz bang" item to come along and when it doesn't - we feel less than excited. Finally - I do not think I am the only one who thinks the upgrade price is more than a bit ballsy considering what we saw today - but I always remind myself that this is entry cost for the next 2+ years of good things. I will upgrade as usual - but not with my usual cadence or excitement level like I felt for other S1 major releases. Cheers VP

Jemusic wrotereggie1979beatz wroteEasy install, but they didn't fix the Arturia "Analog Lab" bug Well, not working here. I'm on the "I've moved completely on and not caring "bullet train"" But glad you and others got it working. |
Vocalpoint wroteericma2 wroteEucon? Multiple physical outputs for listen bus for different Sound ID Reference profiles? Can't find the change log. Bummer! I'm watching the video now and fader flip built into S1 was desperately needed! I understand Post isn't something they're interested in but Eucon is still a very robust protocol for professionals in mixing environments. All good they don't want Eucon to eat into their controller sales. I would definitely buy a Presonus controller when they're better. |
Just watched the whole S1 6 video. Not a bad update but not great either. They're going after a particular audience and want more Sphere users. The Pan/Sends and Instrument Sidechain updates are great! I really want to see a change log.

jeroenvandenwildenberg wroteStill no pitch envelopes or any audio editing improvements for that matter. Pitch envelopes! Yes please!

Yeah gotta say I was surprised that we still don't have a way to automate pitch too... this is a must!! I think every DAW but studio one does this now.

I am going to try out the Sphere membership, up until now I have only purchased perpetual licenses.
But... The card in mypresonus account is expired, I need to update it. But Presonus is not allowing me. I have tried everything. The option to add a new card is not working. So alas...I cannot upgrade... I submitted a ticket, no response. Does Presonus want my money or not? |
pianistmoon wroteI but studio one 6 but midi rewire not show in instrument and not work but in studio one 5 yes Rewire was removed and will no longer be available because it is no longer supported. |
Still not standardized the icon size & shape for macOS? That really would've been a simple, non-dev task.
Some great enhancements here though. I love the addition of proper dual panning options (though it's a shame there's still no clear visual distinction between stereo & mono channels)! |
DJKeys wrotehenrikhjortnaes wrote$199 for upgrading my one year old Professional 5 license to 6? I got it for a touch over $109 at bestservice with a few bestcoins. THe only problem is you have to wait for your serial, they do tell you before hand on the page, up to 24hr's, but I didn't see it . I may yet break down and get another one from PreSonus, patience is not an attribute I was blessed with. *********************************************************************************************************** Anyway, contrary to what some others think, I think the update is a good one (on paper) and well worth the price of entry, I can't wait to get it installed. Well done, and thanks PreSonus Team |
It also sucks that they did a notable revamp on ProEQ, but didn’t add a Middle/Sides option anywhere! That would’ve been a great addition.
Oh well, at least Dynamic EQ is a very welcome enhancement. I do want to make it clear that overall, I think there are some great updates here, and have already been happy to upgrade. |
Well the list of new stuff at the top of this forums doesn't really grip me with excitement. I guess I shall try to learn more about this upgrade. Not too excited to be honest but maybe I'm not armed with enough info yet.

neiljordan1 wroteIt also sucks that they did a notable revamp on ProEQ, but didn’t add a Middle/Sides option anywhere! FWIW, if you have the Pro version, you can create an FX chain with two Mixtools and two Pro EQs. Overall that's more flexible than either offering L/R or M/S in the plug-in, or using a dual-mono approach like Pro Tools. One major advantage is that you can insert a very short delay (e.g., a couple ms) in either the mid or side, which you can't do if the M/S option is integrated in an effect. If you have Artist, one of my upcoming Friday Tips shows how to extract mid and sides from any stereo track, without using FX Chains or encoding/decoding. It requires only two tracks. It also works well for M/S recording, so you can move the mic positions around and hear the end result in stereo. With 6's ability to store track presets that have multiple tracks, this makes it easy to load/recall M/S effects structures. Frankly, even if the Pro EQ offered a mid/side switch, I'd keep using the more open-ended option. It has spoiled me
