It's almost been one year since Windows 11 was released so I've been installing it / testing it.

My successful config;

Gigabyte Designare Z390 (with Thunderbolt 3). motherboard.
Thunderbolt 3 to Apple FireWire 800 dongle.
Apple Firewire 800 to Apple FireWire 400 dongle.
FireWire 400 dongle to Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 (they all said it wouldn't work, it does!).

I'm still using Windows 10 on the whole (I have multiboot) but so far no issues. Well only two, it changed my default audio interface (I simply changed it back), and the date/time settings needed refreshing.
Otherwise just as good as Windows 10 and it seems pretty stable.

Number one tip is make sure all your driver's (audio interface, controllers, network cards) are updated before you upgrade. Oh and back up!

Intel i9 9900K (Gigabyte Z390 DESIGNARE motherboard), 32GB RAM, EVGA Geforce 1070 (Nvidia drivers).
Dell Inspiron 7591 (2 in 1) 16Gb.
Studio One Pro 6.x, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit, also running it on Mac OS Catalina via dual boot (experimental).
Presonus Quantum 2626, Presonus Studio 26c, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport Classic (1.45), Atom SQ, Atom Pad, Maschine Studio, Octapad SPD-30, Roland A300, a number of hardware synths.

You might want to disclose whether you installed 11 over 10 or did a clean install :)

Wouldn't you know it, I too have an oldie but goodie Firewire 400 interface that took some finagling to get it to work in 10 from Win7 (no Win10 driver, but it's now working great anyway) that may or may not get hosed by installing 11 over 10.

I should also mention that in the past almost all "experts" recommended a clean install of new major Windows versions . . . but in the present a lot of people who know what they're doing feel fine about installing 11 over 10 and have had good results.

(10 Pro to 11 Pro, not clean).
I don't feel the need to do fresh installs nowadays, upgrades tend to work well unless your existing config is a mess.

I'm actually so happy with it, my Windows 10 installations have all been upgraded to 11 now. Backing it all up as we speak.

The only issues I've had pre upgrade is often the MS PDF writer and XPS printer drivers need to be removed otherwise it won't upgrade. Also I had to run SFC and DISM on more than occasion beforehand. Finally in 2 out of 3 times I had to download Windows 11 via their website tool rather than use Windows update.

Since one year I use following config:

MSI MPG Z590 Gaming Wifi Edge
32GB RAM
I7-11700k (because of its single core performance)

added a Samsung 980 PRO 1TB SSD on Slot 1 for max speed 4x16GT)
+ 1TB Corsair in 2nd slot with 4x8GT)
still use my old 760Ti (Prices was just insane the past years).

I use a Studio 1810C Interface (currently no room for 1824c which was on my wishlist) and a few Synths connected via USB for USB Midi.

Works very well for me. No issues so far.

Posting this.... I am not sure if my signature below is already up to date :D (edit... it is)

Core i7 11700k / GTX 760Ti / 32GB RAM / MSI z590m
Presonus Studio 1810C / Modal Argon8M / Cobalt8M / Korg Modwave
Presonus Sphere
Win 11

I saw this https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... 3BhV6tMWNx so it seems like polyphony is slightly less, but performance is better at low latency's.

I'm going for it. I ran into an issue that has nothing to do with S1 and support was, well, support. (something I don't even have installed is causing a crash? Hun? ) Anyways, it's really time for a clean install anyways.

May the force be with me?

So far, so good. A few things to get used to with the new look. Right now, I have done the following:

S1 5 and 6*
Nektar T4
IK TONEX
a rehablab verb (sonsig)
Audient driver
ilok (took some hoops, not sure I can explain)

*There is a section about the T4 on their web site explaining how, that is why 5 was installed)

Too early to tell, did everything CLEAN though (was having some niggles all of the sudden, too much crap installed/uninstalled/yadda)

So I'll state again, a few small issues I had:

-ilok. Even though I've never had an issue in the past, I ran into a few weird things. The "ilok cannot run across multiple systems" error had me stumped. Here is what I'd recommend if making the switch:
-REMOVE the dongle from any computer you are using it with FIRST before updating to 11
-INSTALL the ilok manager before inserting the dongle. I've never run into this in the past, but ilok doesn't like this at all.
-THEN plug in your ilok. These steps should at least help to avoid errors. Looks like I've got it sorted now.

-CONTROLLERS (other than SQ/ATOM) Please read any or all reports and make SURE you still have 5 installed. For what ever reason S1 doesn't always like the scripts (I'm Nektar personally) but there is a workaround if you look at their site. For me, copying the 5 installed setting after installing the script for 5 to 6 worked beautifully. They are aware of the issue, and are going to fix it for cleanliness. The only issue I've run into on my T4 is that for vst's the "view" control doesn't work. I've reported it, they are likely already aware of this. "View" works so far with all S1 plugs that I can tell.

Some little things that you will be searching for (I'm sure there are more, but just for sanity:
-The "power" button. You either have to use the windows key or the start key in the taskbar to access this, a little different from 10. Then it is at the bottom right and behaves as expected. I'd like to find a way to have this on the taskbar, but I have not found a way to do that yet.
-All the things to set up stuff is there and is actually more intuitive than 10, but there will be some hunting/pecking to find stuff.
-Update is a little like 10 was at first. If you are weary of this for any reason, please do a little research on how/if you can customize this to your liking. Personally, I just do the updates.

That is the stuff I can remember for now that threw me a little, but they are not big issues at all, just learning curve things as far as I can tell.

Now for the good stuff!

-Performance (once you switch to "high performance" as usual) seems to be terrific so far. Everything is a little snappier and seems more intuitive overall. I am seeing a little better performance meter in S1. It's not crazy, but it's better. I've heard that (I think I provided a link here) that polyphony is slightly less (for Kontakt/etc) but again, the performance meter seems to be happy. And I'm still getting better performance in 6 than 5. It's actually sick! I'll have one of my usual templates up that used to show about 30-40% on the meter and now it's like 15%! Love it so far.
-The look is better to me. I feel like I can read things easier, so coupled with S1's improvements in 6, I feel that I can navigate better. It's also (as expected) more customizable. There is less crap I don't want and more stuff that makes the experience more desirable.
-So far, every plug has worked well, if not improved. Softube and some IK stuff (but not TONEX) still take a while for the GUI to load (really need to contact Softube about this) but over all the snappiness and ease has been really good. Now, I haven't deep dived into much so this could easily not be to some peoples liking, or even mine in the future. Also, since I went clean for the install, I have much less installed off the bat. Installation has gone well for everything thus far. Simple and similar to 10, so far, so good.

Can't think of anything else to report right now, and again, it's WAY too early to state unequivocally that this the the NEO of systems, but the start has been nice. I am really glad I waited for them to update stuff.

I believe this is only for systems that use battery power (Laptop).

I have no options to put the Power Button on the taskbar for my main DAW (Custom PC in tower) or any of the 3 varieties of Win 10 and 22H2 of Windows 11 (all running in TEST VMs)

See, I say something nice about updates and then I run into a little tiny issue

I had to change inputs/outputs on the Audient after an update I had right after posting. It's to be expected, but I find it a little ironic, don't cha think?

Alt+F4. There is probably a widget as well. Or just use the physical button (settings under power management/control panel).

After over a month of using 11, it's been terrific so far. Mostly it's just "eye candy" but there is a performance increase as well.

Knock on wood, everything is hummin' along nicely.
