I have Battery4 on one track, with 4 sets of instruments (HH on Battery 4 output ST1/2, Crash on ST3/4, Snare on ST5/6 and Kick on ST7/8). I want to create separate tracks for the four Battery 4 outputs - I need to do this so I can create audio tracks for each of the four instruments.

How do I assign the 4 stereo outputs from Battery4 into separate tracks - can't for the life of me see how.

I currently have the 4 outputs assigned to four different channels, but how do I create an audio track from a channel?

We need a head-banging-against-a-brick-wall smiley (or grimacie, I guess)

It can be done. Its like Kontakt. Fiddly at first to setup but once done the multiple outs do show up on the Studio One mixer.

If you right click on an audio channel slider you can edit volume information which will add an automation lane for that audio channel.

Close as you can get to making an audio channel into an audio track.

Well you can route an audio channel to an audio track.

Yeah, the 2nd video, Quanta doesn't go into that, but he gives some brief mapping points. Quanta rarely finishes out or follows through with what he's talking about though, which I've never understood, though his subject matter is good.

The first video does go through what would save text writing about, so that will help you Leo with aux outputs. Then just set the busses to record on to new tracks.

I have both mono and aux outs for battery, and the two videos will illustrate this.

- Right-click your event on the Battery track and choose Instrument Parts -> Explode Pitches to Tracks
- Open the inspector
- Select a different channel for each track

Now each track is connected to its channel and you can solo/mute/bounce them.

I think he wants all the separate outputs from Battery 4 to be on separate Studio One mixer channels.

Hi Guys

Well, the solution was blindingly obvious once Lokefly pointed it out that having 4 channels, I could just record those onto new tracks and then export as stems - I thank you!

I just needed a nudge to get me over that "Huh?" hurdle (a Huhdle?) :)

Actually, while doing that I noted that you can export stems from the channels directly, but since I'd started...

Besides, my way I get evidence in the form of tracks of what I had done.

Anyhoo, thanks for everyone's help

Or if you don't to mess with outputs, you can just right click on your drum track and "Explode Pitches To Separate Tracks."

This also gives you separate control over each drum. You do lose the opportunities for "OH" and "ROOM" mixing as well as the potential for "Mic Bleed Mixing", but if you are doing electronic music (I am assuming you are as that is the primary purpose of Battery 4), you don't want that stuff anyway.

Yes we are, brother. Glad it worked out for you! I could fully see Jaz' interpretation with the wording and Jeff's suggestion as well and both those guys are tremendously helpful. Try all aspects to accomplish the same or new things. It's all good~

I also felt a little responsible recommending B4 to you a while back. I hope you're making headway with it. Sounds like you are.
