MisterE wroteI'm curious if add-on customizations like ones recently mentioned in this thread remain as new versions of S1 are installed . . . or if you have to reinstall them every time you upgrade?

My add-ons (Navigation Essentials etc.) are installed as official PreSonus Studio One extensions. They remain when you install a new update of Studio One.

The Color Toolbar has to be copied manually into the /Scripts/ folder each time you install a new update.

jazzundso wroteYes, indeed. And it's the perfect tool in combination with Navigation Essentials which lets you select tracks by color (or select tracks that have the same color) ;-)

I use that a lot, too, especially the "Make Me a Cup of Tea" macro. :D

But seriously, it's another great addition.

Studio One Pro (v5) on i7 7700 win10 PC w16GB RAM and a Mac Pro Tower (w/RME & Focusrite interfaces.)

I use S1 as an author/musician/multi-media artist.
My work includes the newly released: Clearing a Path to Joy (And finding contentment along the way) [AuroraSkyPublishing.com]
and my upcoming music video, Too Big To Fail, which introduces Citizen Based Social Planning — "the next step in the evolution of democracy." You know...typical everyday stuff. :)

Quietly wroteMy main gripe is that when you have an instrument track coloured and then bounce it, it changes the bounced track to the next colour on the palette. On the basis that I could be regarded as senile I am convinced that bouncing a track should not change its colour. I could moan about other things but its too hot and I am melting.

I wanted to say "agreed" but then I realized you are not talking about transforming an instrument track to an audio track. This won't change the color.

If you bounce an event to a new track, this obviously creates a new track and this new track gets a new color as usual.

Lokeyfly wroteThat's a good one, I forgot about. That is a nuts and bolts matter IMO. If I'm copying a guitar track elsewhere, why is the color changing? [...] When I reach into a bag of M&M's, I expect a color change. Not when pasting a track, or item.

Well that doesn't happen!? If you duplicate a track, the color stays the same.

Surely the pure act of bouncing a track is that you are bouncing all the information on that track no matter what it is or put another way a replica. Apart from the format it is a carbon copy. Now in my book that should include the colour or as many of you spell as color LOL. As to the bounce to a new track then just drop the New Track part LOL a straight forward Bounce. In short add a new track and yes you get a new color but bounces should not. I rest my case.

Those who can't dance always blame the band.

I get what you are saying. ON the other side the BOUNCE is really a NEW audio file so I get that as well. I lean towards your side with this one though. :+1

No. A new audio file is never a reason for a new color. A new track is.

You can bounce on the same track as often as you want but the color will stay the same. You will only get a new color when a new track is created. That's the rules ;-)

Maybe I missed the part where he stated his track color is changing when he bounces??

Honestly, I don't give 2 chits about any of this color BS, I was just trying to help in my first post.

Ill go away and let you color your self whatever you deem necessary

Oh, colored (or coloured) files! What a concept!

Just joshing. :?

I think we can all leave the color thing alone now.

Some here very much remember. With Studio One and Two, whew, there was lots of posts and screaming about color. Rightfully so. This went on for several years! Having to deal with a bland blue-gray as an overall look.

Now, I tend to think color is way down the need scale. Still, some will always pull up the color wagon.....
