I am using some pedals (On/Off, no 127 in-betweens) to activate and deactivate different effects on vocals while playing the piano. With most effects I'm able to make it work by using the mix and allowing it to go to either 0 or 100 but with reverb I want the mix to be at 0 when the pedal isn't pressed and at 25 when it is, I haven't found a way to do it. can someone help me?

Are you playing live? Does this involve Studio One? If so what is your setup?
Seems that if the pedal is just for binary ‘on - off’ control then set the reverb to 25% in your mix so that when it’s off, it’s off and when it’s on, it’s set to your required value/level in the mix. Apologies if I’ve missed the point.

Welcome to the Forum!
You could set your reverb like you like it then use the pedal to enable or disable the plugin, or control the sends maybe. Lot of different parameters to choose from, like here is send level and mute going to an fx channel. Good to put your specs in your signature, click below in my signature.

I too like the OP am wondering about this. Tacman's solution isn't registering, so this is an example of what I'd like to do:
If I have a controller (expression pedal, midi knobs, etc. ) I'd like a way to have the value be something other than off/on or the full enchilada. So it's unclear to me if you can do this with S1. Can you set up the value to be let's say ... 20 to 90 instead of the full value? If so, what is the step by step procedure to do this? This would be very handy for filters (and controlling things with my expression pedal like wah) |
Depends on the virtual instrument and the parameter your pedal/wheel/... is linked to on that instrument. If that parameter controls a switch (e.g. 'mute') then on and off are the only two options. See if the instrument has a more appropriate parameter to link your pedal/wheel/... to (such as 'gain' i.s.o. 'mute').

Looking at the arranger section hit the A key which gets you to automation mode.
Every track says display off, click that and down below is add/remove. That will get you to the parameter dialog. So for the OP his hardware could switch a mute parameter for the reverb when it was not wanted. Then when it was wanted the reverb would already be set the way he wants it, possibly, there's other parameters to try to get what he's after. Midi on and off values would be 0 to 63 = Off, 64 to 127 = On

Thanks for the instructions. That was easy (learn something every day)
But, I still can't figure out if I can make the parameter like 20 to 90. Let's say I have a controller (expression pedal, etc) and want a wah to be the above parameters instead of the full amount. Is there a way to do that? |
Hey,
you can do this with the Channel Editor and Macro Controls. - Add the effect you want to automate - Open the Channel Editor for this channel/track - Click the wrench to enter Macro Controls Mapping mode - Here you can add parameters from all insert effects in this channel - By clicking the curve, you can change the min and max value - You can even change the curve - You can add multiple parameters as well Once you have assigned all parameters you want to automate to one Macro Control, you can automate this Macro Control via Control Link using any MIDI controller...
